[snip] . . . However, the entirety of one blog was not yet deleted, and in that weblog, created using a variation on Kara Beth's "KareBear" screen name, she had pasted, on October 17, 2005, at 2:20 p.m., an instant message transcript of a chat she had with a friend. Using yet a third variation on her "KareBear" nick, Kara Beth seemed to show a different side to her personality.
if it has to do with david and me, we are taking care of it we know what we are going to do. so you are just gonna go tell everyone?"
[snip]The chat between the two friends did not seem to end well. Kara Beth Borden wrote later in all capital letters, the internet equivalent of shouting; "YOU DONT UNDERSTAND WE TOOK THAT RISK THE FIRST NIGHT HE CAME OVER... we said

"I think she was in on it, maybe all of it including the murders. My concern is that, if I'm right, and they let her off on this because of her age, she'll do something awful somewhere down the line"
I'd have her on suicide watch. She knows what he did and she still "loves" him. She will think of her mother and father every morning and night for the rest of her life.
Kids have no concept of "eternity". Imagine her getting married someday, you think she won't think of them then? and her firstborn.. speculation, speculation... I'm sure that my soul is no better or worse, but, I'm glad that soul isn't mine.
I hope that the Ludwigs' marriage holds up through all of this. I suspect that David has been a disruptive force in their lives for some time and this is an opportunity.. oh, yes, it is.. an opportunity for them to survive as a family unit. sans junior. I doubt if they see that yet.
that is one fantastic post. LOL! made my day. thank you!
I didn't want to bring up "death penalty" during my first visit to this site... without finding out which way the wind blows... but, now that it has been addressed.. I sure can't see any reason to keep him alive, other than I am not Lachesis.
not only were those kids back then much more mature and responsible, they probably also knew how to farm, how to sew and cook, how to take care of children, how to build a house and hunt and fish and cut wood for the fire among other things.....
now kids today may LOOK older.....they may start growing boobs early etc.....and certainly sex is everywhere and not only that, ENCOURAGED everywhere, from schools to music to books to movies....
but kids are NOT mature.....they have not learned self control, responsibility, or how to postpone gratification......
I fear for this country....
they are not learning to think.

The death penalty would sure seem the thing to do in this respect, since it appears to be premeditated murder. Of course, they will have to prove that.
Let me add one thing: the average graduate of the 8th grade in 1905 probably could read, writes and do arithmatic better than the averahe high school graduate today. Likewise a person with two years of high school could outperform the average college graduate today. High school became largely a social experince, especially after the Great Depression, during which the country expanded secondary education to keep 14-17 year olds in school in order to keep them out of the work force.
