Oh Jeez, can some of you just shut up? - Pukin on FReeper- negativity

Posted on 09/29/2005 8:06:13 AM PDT by Pukin Dog

Can’t a guy take a vacation without the nay-sayin ninnies of negativity taking over this place?

As the self-appointed optimist of this forum, I must say that I am more than a little P-Od over what I have been reading coming from the scared keyboards of some of you folks. You act as if someone stole your little Republican cookies and ate them in front of you.

Look, I know it’s not the best of times for Conservatives if you are concerned about spending or the protection of the borders. However, it escapes me why it seems impossible for some of you to take any note of the fact that despite everything you read and hear in the MSM today (including the Delay indictment) that we are winning on practically every measurable point.

Where is your confidence?

I make no bones of the fact that it makes me very happy whenever something occurs that makes liberals angry, sad, bitter or afraid, (which is true of them by default) , but liberal unease or unrest is not required for me to feel fine about the Conservative agenda.

It seems that whenever liberals have cause (no matter how stupid) to celebrate, it causes no end of angst and concern on this side of the aisle. Why is that? In fact I really enjoy the idea that liberals seem to think that they are playing a winning hand, because as long as they believe in that foolish notion, they won’t do the things that they actually could do to gain some ground against us.

But they won’t.

Why?

Because they are stupid, that’s why. And the fact that they are stupid should be enough to allow most of you to sleep better at night, like me. “Oh, you say the liberals are energized? Well, wake me when they get a clue, okay?”

I’ll begin to worry about liberals when they can actually propose a good idea for the country that does not involve raising my taxes, does not involve limiting my individual right to kill cute little animals and eat them, does not involve telling me what I can say, or who I can say it to, or is not about sharing the rights given me by the Constitution to non-citizens, or those who believe in two-penis marital bliss.

Oh yeah, I’m so scared.

You know when I’ll be scared? I’ll be scared when Democrats understand that lower tax rates increase government revenue. I’ll be scared when Democrats learn to love and appreciate the U.S. Military. It will frighten me when Democrats let Blacks off the plantation and let their children attend the schools of their choice with tax-supported dollars. It will frighten me when Democrats understand that their stupid little hybrid cars and eagle-killing windmills are not the answer to our energy needs, and begin to support drilling for oil wherever we find it in sufficient quantity.

Anyone heard a good idea from a Democrat (or liberal) lately? Let’s listen, shall we……

*crickets*

Nothing, folks. Nothing at all from these nuts.

But you do hear a lot of lies, don’t you? Now, if they were winning, would they have to lie about everything, all the time? Would they need to be propped up by a compliant media willing to turn their every thought into a reported attack on our side, no matter how ludicrous the accusation?

What is worse than the negativity from some of you is the stupid idea that the President actually needs to get down in the mud with these losers and fight back. Nothing could be more dumb and idea, and nothing would make the Democrats happier than to have the President out their responding to their worthless agenda.

Think about it like this:

If someone were to grab a knife and point it at you in anger, you would have righteous reason to kill them, would you not? Now, what if that person, instead of a knife, were to point a toothpick in your direction, as though they were going to kill you with that instead? Would you kill them, or just laugh at them?

You see, much of what you folks percieve as Democrat knives, are actually just little Democrat toothpicks, that cannot really harm anyone. A poke might sting a little, but how much damage could it really do, before you beat the toothpick wielding assailant to a bloody pulp?

I’ve said before, that the time to worry, is when the President is worried. Guess what, Freepers; he aint worried. Did anyone see any stress on the face of Tom Delay yesterday? I didn’t.

Try to remember sometimes that there is a big difference between heat and light. Democrats and liberals have lots of heat, but no light, which is why they are always running into things, crashing and burning. They get nowhere, they get nothing accomplished, they only give themselves more reason to be the pathetic, angry, bitter, victims they enjoy showing you every single day.

For once, if you are one of those who think that Bush needs better PR, ask yourself if you think he needs that PR in order for you to feel better each day, or because he needs to win more fights against Democrats. Then, ask yourself how many fights against Democrats our President has actually lost? Democrats decided long ago that they cant beat either Bush or Delay, to their best course of action would be to try to get rid of them as soon as they can. Democrats intend to make tons of accusations in the weeks and months to come, all geared towards legitmizign their stalwart opposition to the President’s agenda until they can find a way to replace him.

They are going to try to plant the idea in the populace that the Bush administation is corrupt and should not be trusted to lead. They intend to use that premise as an excuse to fillibuster the next Supreme court nominee (Luttig) and hold up every measure that they can to keep Bush from succeeding.

The Democrats are going to reach new levels of shame when they attempt to stop ANWAR drilling. It is going to be a fight for the ages, just you wait.

The point of all this, is that the only way that the Democrats can actually gain enough of a foothold to do damage to this administration, is if you negative bozos start parroting the liberals in your attacks on the President. If you are a finger-in-the-wind Republican, you are doing no one any favors when you fail to balance current obstructions and detours in the agenda with the unmistakable evidence that the Conservative agenda is still moving forward, winning victories all the time.

If you Freep solely for the purpose of sharing your insecurites with the world, just like a pussified liberal would do, I ask you to check yourself. If you cant sleep at night without sharing with all of us how you are more informed, more equipped and more able to fight this fight than the Bush administration, then don’t just check yourself, check yourself into a mental ward too.

Must I remind you that Republicans currently control about 85% of this government, and that Liberals control almost NOTHING? Do you need a scorecard to tell you that Al Gore is sitting somewhere eating twinkies in the dark, and John Kerry is still looking for swiss cheese on his cheesesteak, while George Bush is having breakfast in the White House?

And when the MSM tells you a lie, are you going to get mad and gripe like a little bitch, or are you going to steel your resolve and understand that if the other side needs to lie, then they have already lost the dammed war?

I don’t care if every day is a liberal flame-fest against the Conservative agenda, except for on election day. If it makes liberals happy to throw grenades at our side, let them come. Nobody ever one an election by screaming “DON’T VOTE FOR HIM!” You win elections be giving people reasons to VOTE FOR YOU!

If the liberals ever figure this out, then we might have cause for concern.

But they wont, because they are stupid.

And if you think we are losing, then so are you.

Hey, I understand, you guys lost that war through no fault of your own, and it rankles. It's made worse by someone who makes you out to be Nazis, and it's even more hurtful when it's a guy who wore the uniform, and he should be expected to stand up for you. He broke the code.

I don't condone treason, far from it. But Kerry was just another wailing voice in the anti-war wilderness (and there were plenty of them). You wanna enforce the UCMJ and try him for testifying while still on active duty? Fine. Let's strictly enforce all of the UCMJ and retroactively court martial everyone who got the clap while in uniform from 1787 to the present day. If we're going to enforce the rules, let's go all the way.

While we're at it, let's review everyone wrongly convicted under the UCMJ as well. Hey, let's retry Eddie Slovik, too. There's a man that didn't deserve his execution, but he got it anyway, didn't he?

I hate to be flippant about it, but to paraphrase Gandalf the Gray: "There are those that live that deserve death, and those that die that deserve life. Who are you to judge who lives and who dies?"

You're also forgetting that Kerry cannot be prosecuted because he has a Presidential Pardon (signed by Jimmy Carter). Find a way around that one and this quest becomes something more than tilting at windmills, my friend.

I don't disagree with you but the point of the matter is that it would make no difference. Would it (prosecuting Kerry) bring justice? No, because the truly guilty are named Kennedy, Johnson, McNamarra and Westmoreland. Would hanging Kerry from the highest yardarm bring back the 58,000 dead Americans, the 2,000 or so MIA's and millions of dead Vietnamese, Cambodians and Laotians? No. Would standing Kerry in front of a firing squad erase or alter 30+ years of American history? Certainly not.

I know it would make you feel better, but it would achieve nothing. Piece of advice: my dad died a very disappointed man despite all the blessings in his life, because he never got the "atta boy" the way his father did when returning from the Pacific in 1945. Don't make the same mistake. Stop picking at your psychic scabs from Vietnam and find a way to make what's left of your life worth living.

I can guarentee you it's not like Kerry will be buried in Arlington with full honors.

Chasing John Kerry, it seems to me, is a very unsatisfying pasttime and a collosal waste of time when he's become such a non-entity.

P.S. as to what I did about the new war --- I walked out of 1 WTC on 9/11 and was at the recruiting office two days later looking to re-enlist. They didn't want a 36-yr old (at the time) ex-AO1 with a questionable ticker. And I begged. I left in tears because they wouldn't let me fight.

"Hey, I understand, you guys lost that war through no fault of your own"

Thanks to Nixon
the lies of Hanoi Kerry and Hanoi Jane
are being told again.
And our military are being slandered in Gitmo, Iraq and Afghanistan

Hanoi Kerry and War Crimes in Vietnam

Hanoi Kerry went before the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations in 1971
to accuse the United States military
of committing massive numbers of war crimes in Vietnam.

Too bad that because Nixon failed to uphold the law,
we are still stuck with Hanoi Jane and Hanoi Kerry.
If Nixon hadn't caved into the minority anti-war crowd
and listened to the Silent Majority
Hanoi Jane AND Hanoi Kerry
would have been prosecuted for their treason in the 70's,
while Nixon was still President.

Keep in mind that Nixon was directly involved in Viet Nam,
as Vice President, going back to at least 1955.

26 Sep 1945 - The first death of an American serviceman in Vietnam occurred.
OSS (Office of Special Operations) Major (Lieutenant Colonel) A. Peter Dewey
was killed in action by the Communist Vietminh near Hanoi.

May 1950 President Harry S Truman authorised $10 million in aid to the French for their war in Viet Nam.
By January 1951, $150 million had been given in aid.

1953-61 Dwight D. Eisenhower 34th US President
1953-61 Richard M. Nixon Vice President
1953 - The US is supporting the French in the amount of $1 billion per year--
33% of all US foreign aid--which is 80% of the total cost to the
. US Secretary of State, John Foster Dulles (under Eisenhower) first voices the 'Domino Theory':
if one country in Southeast Asia falls to the Communists, they will all fall, one by one.

12 Feb 55 - President Eisenhower's administration sends 1st 350 U.S. advisers to South Vietnam
to train the South Vietnamese Army

8 Jun 56 - The first American of record to die in Vietnam
was Air Force Tech Sergeant Richard B. Fitzgibbon Jr.
His son, Richard B. Fitzgibbon III, died in Vietnam Sep 7, 1965.
8 Jun 56 Has been formally recognized by the Pentagon as the first American officially to die in that war.

5 Sep 56 - President Eisenhower tells a news conference that the French are
"involved in a hopelessly losing war in Indochina" 1956 The US believed in that Ho Chi Minh would have won any election held in Viet Nam and used their influence over the government of the State of Viet Nam to ensure that the election was not held

From a Must Visit Site
Vipers Vietnam Veterans Page, A Vietnam Veteran & Proud Web Site
About Vietnam

The Vietnam war was the longest in our nation's history.
1st American advisor was killed on June 08, 1956,

and the last casualties in connection with the war occurred on May 15, 1975, during the Mayaquez incident. Approximately 2.7 million Americans served in the war zone; 300,000 were wounded and approximately 75,000 permanently disabled. Officially there are still 1,991 Americans unaccounted for from SE Asia.

Vietnam was a savage, in your face war where death could and did strike from anywhere with absolutely no warning. The brave young men and women who fought that war paid an awful price of blood, pain and suffering. As it is said: "ALL GAVE SOME ... SOME GAVE ALL"
The Vietnam war was not lost on the battlefield. No American force in ANY other conflict fought with more determination or sheer courage than the Vietnam Veteran.  For the first time in our history America sent it's young men and women into a war run by inept politicians who had no grasp of military strategies and no moral will to win. They were led by "top brass" who were concerned mainly with furthering their own careers, most neither understood the nature of the war nor had a clue about the impossible mission with which they'd tasked their soldiers.  And the war was reported by a self serving Media who penned stories filled with inaccuracies, deliberate omissions, biased presentations and blatant distorted interpretations because they were more interested in a story than the truth! It can be debated that we should never have fought that war. It can also be argued that the young Americans who fought so courageously, never losing a single major battle, helped in a huge way to WIN THE COLD WAR.

I just wanted to let you know I met with the Flotilla Commander today
and it turns out that I have a few skills that they need and can utilize.
My application should be approved in about 10 days.
Also as of Sept 11 the Coast Guard itself is under the command of the Department of Defense.
While the Auxiliary is not part of the military, it can and does support military actions.
I'm just glad that this old rusty tin can sailor can help protect our country again.

Fine. I'm proud of you. Good for you. I'm saluting as we speak. You sir, are definitely a better American than I am.
I bow to your superior "stick-to-it-tiveness" in managing to get yourself back in uniform while I, sadly, did not.

However, what's done is done. That goes for John Kerry, too. I have no doubt that whatever ring of Hell Dante reserved for traitors and liars has a special table in the front row all ready for him. It's not my concern and I have better things to do than to relive the past 30 years of my life. My personal close call on September 11, 2001 taught me that life is better lived looking forward, not back. He will get his and it will not be by your hand, nor mine.

However, I must say I find myself chagrined that I'm actually having to defend (half-heartedly) non-entity Kerry on this point, but what, specifically is he guilty of? Piling on after it was obvious to anyone with eyes in his head that the war was lost? Was America in the 1970's equal to Nazi Germany or Stalinist Russia where defeatist talk earned you a bullet in the brainpan? Is that what you were fighting for: the limiting of free speech simply because you disagreed with it, because it was personally painful for you, because you found the whole sordid affair extremely distatsteful?

This thread was simply about panicking republicans and so-called conservatives, and you managed to inject an irrelevant John Kerry into it. I'm guilty of rising to the bait, so more shame on me for indulging in idocy.

Get yourself some counselling, sir. You're wound up too damned tight.

As for "who I'm talking to", unless you are a corporate CEO, a member of Congress, a bishop, the Pope, or an ex-President of the United States, you are merely a man with an opinion, like me. Beating your chest about "who you are" impresses me not and makes no difference in terms of your argument.

I refuse to vote for a Supreme Court nominee who came before the Senate intent on demonstrating his ability to deftly deflect legitimate questions about his views, opinions and philosophy.

If he is confirmed – and he may well be – the Roberts Court will shape the course of constitutional law for decades to come. It will decide dozens of cases that will define the depth and breadth of freedom in America – our commitment to civil rights, our dedication to civil liberties, our devotion to privacy and a woman's right to choose.

With that much at stake, Judge Roberts needed to show us where his heart is. Instead he recited case law and said little about what he really thought.

While I recognize that other members of the Senate will legitimately make a different choice, I will vote “NO” on the Roberts nomination. "

1. I don't care what John Kerry is up to: he is yesterday's bagel. He was a nosebleed, you know, something annoying that goes away after a little while. He is a non-entity, what Orwell would have called an unperson. Like the French, or the mosquito, he is an invisble, bloodsucking organism. He is unimportant.

2. John Kerry couldn't organize a gangbang on Death Row, let alone an anti-war movement. New tinfoil hat you got there?

3. JOhn and Jane might be joining the anti-war chorus, but they are not behind it. The same sort of person in the modern anti-war movement is the same sort who was active in the 60's: the lazy, faux-disaffected, chicken-hearted pansies who wish to enjoy every )hedonistic) freedom their country has to offer while simultaneously attenpting to tear it down. They harbor a deep-seated guilt about it that they cannot reconcile and so they engage in such idocy. They are the same sort, always, that gets their cookery from Paris and their politics from Moscow.

3a. Dan Rather is done. He is in the same position as a coma victim, supported by machinery, whose heart hasn't gotten the message that it should stop beating. That he continues to be on television says more about the braindead legions who continue to watch than it does about "Moveon Freepers".

4. I guess if we're going to try Kerry on that one, then we'd better dig up Abe Lincoln and try him too. Lincoln was the closest thing we ever had to a dictator in this country.

5. Fine, you and Ken Starr draw up the indictments and we'll get cracking.

and finally...

6. I recommend Zoloft. Approximately 400 mg per day, and see your psychiatrist twice a month.
