Avnet, Novell Team On Linux Channel Program

Avnet Partner Solutions has created a new channel program that offers certification, sales and technical training to solution providers and ISVs selling Linux.

The Enablement, Partnership, Incentives and Co-Marketing (EPIC) program is jointly funded with Novell to help solution providers craft Suse Linux-based solutions on IBM’s eServer platform. The initiative also includes marketing development and planning services and margin-based sales incentives for Novell products, according to Avnet executives.

“The Linux market is big. We participate with Novell in a big way in an effort to drive more business into the Intel space with the Suse OS,” said Fred Cuen, president of Avnet Technology Solutions for the Americas.

Novell also is discussing more exclusive offerings with Avnet, Cuen added. “They’re talking all the right things in terms of the Linux market,” he said.

Through the EPIC program, solution providers will have direct relationships with Novell's Linux Impact Team and local Novell account management and sales teams to assist them through the presales process. Partners can get education and training for the Certified Linux Sales Person (CLS 2005), Certified Novell Sales Person (CNS 2005) and Certified Linux Professionals (CLP) certifications.

The telecom market is going to experience a revolution once consumer level installation, management, and feature flexibility becomes possible with the VOIP technology.

Imagine homes where people will be able to control their telecom, customize it, add software to it, etc. It'll happen.

Yup--now we'll see the decline of another world-class leading industry--the telephone industry. With all of their high-paying jobs. /sarc

Did you know that Linus Torvald's father was a Moscow-trained communist and that Red Flag Linux is really a copy of Red Hat that the Chinese got for free? Oh, and Richard Stallman is a leftist, too.

Crap, you left out the most important part. I swear, if you are going to post stuff like this, you should at least post the MOST IMPORTANT POINT. The fact is that lots of Dems run Linux. Someone ping old eagle eye for us and he has a ready list of the scum sucking leftists who run that stuff. Oh yeah. Planned Parenthood runs linux, too. WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO GET THE STORY RIGHT??? Anyone who leaves out those most important points is obviously a plant from DAILY WORKER. Oh yeah, and any leftists who DO run MS (a beautiful success story of a company who struggled and competed in the free marketplace and came out on top because superior products always win), only run it because they PAY A TRUE BLUE CAPITALIST TO HOST FOR THEM... and they always run MS. Are we clear so far?

At least you're finally starting to admit the truth about this stuff. Maybe one day you'll see the value of giving it up altogether. But probably not, seem pretty proud at the moment.

Well, gee, I got a copy of Red Hat linux free too. Ftp'd it from one of their mirrors. I also have several copies of SuSE, and Knoppix.

What's your point?

If they so desired, the Robinsons could get a copy of whatever distro they prefer, customize it to their liking, and put out a FReeper Linux Distro.

Imagine Tux waving the FreeRepubic Flag!

And so what if Linus' father was a Moscow trained commie. Is Linus; he seems to have taken to capitalism quite well.

I can see your confusion though; it's not like the Soviet Union had any influence in his part of the world or anything.
