KY on Fox???
Posted on 06/29/2005 8:26:17 AM PDT by Scarchin
Okay - I'm a teacher on vacation and watching Fox news.
It's 11:00 in the morning and an ad comes on for "KY massage and personal lubricant." The husband lights up when the wife says "personal lubricant" and she says it again at the end of the ad and winks. There is a clear sexual tone to the ad.
Is it me or is this out of bounds?
Anyone else see it?
I'm calling FOX and I'll post what happens.

Mozilla Firefox is a free download, it will import all your bookmarks for you, and it is MUCH more secure than Explorer.
Not only that, but most hijackers design viruses and such to reach the maximum audience, which means they target Explorer.
I have not had a problem since I switched.

How are they supposed to advertise their product? Good grief. There is nothing wrong with their product and they are obviously marketing it to the people who might be in need of it.And obviously, they need to advertise, since many have the wrong idea about the product, wrongly thinking it's something only gays need... as was stated early on in the thread.
To: HairOfTheDog
do they NEED to advertize? i haven't seen vibrators advertized on tv and it seems to me that those in need manage to find them sans advertizing.

"Your wife asked you what KY was? I find that impossible to believe" From what we know of KY, it is for an alternate life style, in which we do not indulge. Whatever happend to natures personal lubricate? I guess some are just to lazy or uncaring to properly take the time for it. You're wrong, sometimes nature doesn't work well enough. And even so..... I thought all women had experienced KY at the gynecologist's office.

"this add has been running for months.... where have you been hiding?"
Just a guess, teaching the subtleties of reading comprehension?

Obviously they do need to advertise. Look how many people on the thread think only gays use it.

My mother told me that when I was a child, I was looking through a magazine and saw an ad of KY Jelly. I asked her, what kind of jelly is that, and if I can have some!....LOL My mother, looked at me and said, "Hun, that's not the kind of jelly you eat"....LOL
To: HairOfTheDog
the people on the thread thinking only gays use it obviously don't find themselves in need of it or they would have found it, had it recommended etc. like i said, vibrators sell without advertizing.

The need for it comes on slowly, and perhaps women who are shy about such things don't talk about it or get recommendations about lubricants. They either suffer it, or stop having sex.

Or, for those special occasions like anniversaries or 'make-up' sex, Outboard Marine Corporation's transmission gear grease, applied with an air-powered caulking gun.

The only one more irritating is that bearded guy that SCREAMS that three minute "KaBoom" commercial....that's definite 'leave the room for awhile' material.

Well, as I've always said, the best form of censorship is to turn the channel. It must be hard with kids your age. I think its so hard to be a kid these days, with all the pressures to be and act grown up (including sex). But, I do believe that if children are raised with good morals and a good sense of right and wrong, they stand a far better chance to withstand today's culture- and even rebuke parts of it, than those who have MTV as their parent.
Sounds like you're doing a great job with your children. Keep it up!
To: HairOfTheDog
There are many things that you don't notice until you have children - advertisements for really scary movies for an example. Those are shown during the day on regular TV stations - I was watching the news once, with kiddos playing nearby, and a movie showing a house suddenly filling up with water and a girl drowning came on.... I was literally running to the tv to change the station -
It's a whole new world when you have kids....

Thank you. I myself, being a tender 44 years, do not currently have need for this product, but I'm not precluding its use in the future. I sure hope it doesn't get banned before then or I'll have to use Mazola.
To: ChildOfThe60s
LOL Hey, I never criticized talking about KY. I was saying it was no fun that you weren't using euphamisms and acting like an adult! lol
To: the Real fifi
Maybe, you should just turn off the tv and hand them a book to read.Or watch non-commercial tv.Yeah I will stop watching the news - twit.

Sorry for not replying sooner, I was busy checking out all the possible permutations of that one. Now I really need some Pepto Bismol.

The cowboy looks pretty gay, doesn't he? And could they have picked a more homely woman?
The black guy is the only normal one of the 3.
