While I'm waiting for the pics to transfer from the camera to the PC, I got a bad-news story from the local NASCAR talk show, Let's Talk NASCAR (they archive the shows, but this morning's show hasn't yet been archived). Seems the Busch garage got "just a bit" crowded on Friday, and NASCAR decided to send the hauler drivers in a half-hour early Saturday to move their rigs up some to create more room. Only problem was, nobody told the track security, and they followed previous orders to keep the garage closed until 8 and blocked the drivers from entering the garage. A big brouhaha ensued, with phone calls, headsets being thrown, and a quote from a NASCAR official, "That's okay; we're not going to be here next year anyway."

Let's hope that was only in the "heat of the moment" type comment. The smaller/shorter tracks are the roots of Nascar and always have plenty of action. Even when a driver puts all others a lap down. :)
