I want to see the Hitchhikers Guide. Would you advise me to wait for video or shell out the $30 to take my family to the movies?

As you've seen from my posts, I really didn't like it at all. But there have been a number of people here who really did like it. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Mark

People recommended the BBC version of Hitchhikers Guide and not this new release. Bought the BBC DVD and wasn't disappointed. Many say the new movie had all of Douglas Adams funny lines turned into nothing humorous.

I wouldn't make too much of this. I plan to see Star Wars again, but want to give it a week. I think many people are in the same boat.

Star Wars ROTS is fantastic. I highly recommend it.

BTW, just watched the DVD version of "Magnificent Seven" the other night with commentary. What a movie. Sometimes you get a movie that is terrific from top to bottom in the casting, music, writing, etc.

animals escape from the NYC zoo and find way to wild jungle where craziness ensues. In the comic tone of Shrek.

Well, the one person I know who saw Star Wars 3 said it was slow, basically a stinker.

don't think ANY of the prequel films will get the repeat boxoffice that the Original Trilogy films did.

You might want to check again.

SW- ANH stayed in theaters- and at #1- forever!
Even ROTJ was on screens for months!
And- the OT boxoffice is based on MUCH lower ticket prices.
At NO time do I think any of the OT films were topped by another movie in their second week of release. I could be wrong about ESB and ROTJ, but not ANH.

I want very much to see Star Wars, but school just let out this week, and with the crowds going to see it, I decided I would wait a week. I bet a lot of people are doing the same thing.

Netflix has started mailing out new DVDs a day later than they used to...a couple months ago, when they recieved a movie, they would mail out the next one in queue (sp?) the same day, now it seems to only happen the next day.
I have never watched an episode of '24' on TV, but have gotten them on DVD in order...I love it...no commercials, watch when you have time...

In all honestly, I knew nothing about the books. I just went to see a movie. Maybe if you appreciate the books, the movie will work for you. My husband and I just didn't like it.

It would be a shame for it to fall short of its immediate lesser predecessors. It's a pretty good film for 21st century Lucas. Still can't touch his '77 yarn (or Empire), however.

The Magnificent Seven is indeed a great movie. What a musical score. When I hear that music...something happens - not sure what it is, but it's something. Maybe the best score I've ever heard.

Remember Cheers when the guys (and Carla) would run off to watch it at the drop of a hat, and start to recite the music. Great Stuff. GREAT stuff.

If Lucas had not made his snotty remarks about President Bush, I might have slept through another tired version of Star Wars.

Lucas, you're either with us or against us. If you are against us, you are our enemy.

Star Wars ROTS is fantastic. I highly recommend it.

I just went with my family today and we all thought it was terrific, and the last thirty minutes as they tied up most of the loose ends that set us up for Star Wars: A New Hope was a blast.

I can't believe that anyone saw Bush-bashing in that movie, the movie was basically all about good vs. evil in an absolute sense and the comment about only a Sith sees things in absolutes was harmless (and pretty dumb as well).

I thought if anything the movie was strong proof for the practice of going after evil as soon as possible, and what happens when you allow pity to stay your hand-- both the main Sith and Darth Vader could have been killed but for pity. You need to kill evil before they get a Death Star. At least that's what I saw.

If others think that Bush resembles the Sith Lord, they are already in the clutches of the Dark Side.

This Freeper gives it two thumbs up. May the Force be With You.
