Dear XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX ,
We're writing with some important news. On May 20, 2005, Joi Internet will discontinue offering dial-up Internet access. In order to keep you connected, we've made a special arrangement with EarthLink, the nation's next generation Internet Service Provider (ISP).

I really liked this cheap internet service, I am sorry to see it go... Earthlink has hooked up with them to try and get my business, but I have found that Peoplepc is Earthlinks cheaper version. But I didn't like Peoplepc one bit.
I didn't see this posted on FR anywhere... Please delete if previously posted...

Charter surreptitiously dropped their dialup service and now offer cable only. Previously the dial up allowed a connection away from home. Alas it is no more.
The price is the same but the service is diminished. When you have a monopoly you can screw your customers at will.

What I liked about Joi was it had no banner junk to deal with. I connected, got a good V92 connection (better than V90) and had no spam (banner ad) to deal with.
Of course, being on a budget, the price was incredible too at only $7.99 a month (prepaid).
Dang it, I hate changing email addresses... makes it hard for ole JimRob to send me those daily question on who to zot each day.

Lay it on me, since this has been moved to chat... no need to pm me... Tell me please about the process it makes you go thru to log in. Do you have to go to their "home page" or can you just go directly to where you want without having to load their bandwidth sucking blah blah blah...
Also do they make you load some sorta colume at the top of the page when you surf.. I hated that about Peoplepc...

I've had good luck with these guys since -- geez, FORVER. Since 1996, at least.
They were great when I used to have dialup. Now they essentially host my website and provide me e-mail.
http://www.hypersurf.com/dialup.shtml
They're based in CA, but the page says that they have over 7000 nationwide access numbers. Check 'em out.

I used these guys with very good results -
Surfside.net. They are based in Cali but serve nationwide. Good service and nice folks.

Hi Guys...
I was one of the original Hawk clients. About four years ago. I loved their rates. But, I noticed tech support and email problems begin suffering about six months ago, a sure sign something is up. Then, three weeks ago, I lost all my email and called tech support and got people in Miami??? Not Atlanta! So I figured the "jig was up!" Anyway, I have found another low cost provider at a special rate if you go through this URL. They have all v92 and loads of dial-ups nationwide. http://www.sysmatrix.net/promo/dialup.php3?refid=findanisp.com&refsessid=3618202
(*Sigh*) So, here I go again changing hundreds of my email accounts.
I would NEVER go to Earthlink folks!
Good Luck!!!
