REVELATIONS !!
04/17/05 | vanity

I can hardly wait !!

The second part of Revelations - an NBC six-part mini-series about something or other is on tonight.

If you missed the first part, let me fill you in.

Something awful is going to happen, and Sister Severely must convince renowned Harvard astrophysicist I.B. Skeptical to help-but-she's having trouble getting through to him. (Everybody knows men never listen !)

You know Sister Severely is on the up-and-up,because she talks with a sort of Scots-Irish lilt, just like Whats-her-name in "Touched by an Angel"... and she works for a Foundation.

Dr. Skeptical is a MAN OF SCIENCE ,however, and lives up to his name. ( See what I mean about Men ?)

Meanwhile,a pre-teen girl, rebelling (quite naturally) against male chauvinist-dominated parentalism, has run out into a storm, and has been hit by lightning:the first bolt tosses her up in a tree, and the second knocks her down: rendering her "brain dead"-only she's not quite brain dead yet.

Also,a ship has been lost at sea, during a terrible storm, but a fishing vessel rescues a child, found floating on a bit of driftwood.

Everybody is quite excited by the rescue of the child.

I'm not sure, but I think it may be The Gerber Baby !

As if this were not enough to deal with, the man who murdered Dr. Skepical's daughter-the incredibly villainous Satanist Nash T. Bassard-is in custody, and wants to talk to Dr. Skeptical,so he can gloat a bit.

He tells Dr. Skeptical he - Bassard - is protected by Satan;and, to prove it,cuts one of his fingers off,and (Bwa-a-a-aha-ha-ha !) it doesn't bleed !

You still with me here ??

I hope I'm not spoiling it for you by giving too much of the plot away !

Well, just to wrap this up,there's a second re-run of a sitcom you long ago tired of watching on one of the high-numbered channels.

Watch it instead.

This sounds like the worst thing in the history of television.

Episode #1 is being rerun tonight, not episode #2, which will be broadcast Wednesday.

As for your review of the series, you don't know spit fron Shinola.

They are trying to do 2 things:

1) Cash in on Mel Gibson

2) Re-define what it means to be a modern Christian into their own corrupt version. Ie- they are seeking to create a "Religious Left" in this country.

I watched the first episode - it wasn't bad. There's nothing else to watch on Wednesday nights - unless you want to see Sidney Bristow save her boyfriends life for the five hundreth time.

-but-she's having trouble getting through to him. (Everybody knows men never listen !)

Women don't have anything relevant to say, that's why.

What's that Carly Fiorina? Merge Hewlett-Packard with Compaq Computer! But why? (Everybody knows the men listened and wished now that thy hadn't.)

Because Americans don't deserve to have any job. That's why.

Like I said, we're all better off ignoring women. Barbara Boxer, Diane Feinstein and Hillary being further examples

What a piece of crap!

I watched it so I could write down NBC sponsors and then tell them I won't be buying their products anymore.

That, and The Office. What's that all about?!

Who wants to spend all day at work and then come home and watch an inane show about work?

There was a lot of bucks put in this series and it shows. Great production values, very well made. There are tweaks from everywhere, the Omen movie, a little Exorcist and a lot of X-files.
No forensic experts, no crime scene investigations, no desperate housewifes.
Interesting that the first episode had an eerie parallel line to the Schievo story.
