Normally you can right click on the picture while in the editing mode, and select the save picture command:

Well, I don't have the MS powerpoint program on my computer, only the "powerpoint viewer".

do you have clipbrd.exe on your XP ?
If yes, put a shortcut to it on the quick launch bar.
Also get IrfanView (do a Google) to reformat from *.clp to *.jpg
Make sense ?

Pause the file on the image you want, then mash on "Print Screen", on the top row right next to F12. It's in memory now, so you can open it with any image program. Open Paint, then click Edit, then click Paste, and there it is. Save it with whatever name, of course.

I see XP handles .png's now, which is my favorite. It's lossless, and it's akin to a zip program, which means it'll use less space than a similar .bmp

Addenda:

To save whatever window is in the foreground, instead of the whole screen, you hold down ALT and then click Print Screen. Example:

I like Irfanview, but also highly recommend this other freebie, XnView.

The latest version is 1.74. The latest Irfanview version is 3.95
