Prayer Thread for a Murderer.

Posted on 03/31/2005 2:58:44 PM PST by El_Doctor

We Must Pray for Micheal Schaivo....No matter how terrible the things that he have done are, we must turn the other cheek. He will eventually have to face what he did no matter how hard he tries to run from it. I pray that he will repent and atone for his sins. Jesus taught forgiveness and we must follow him.

I realize this is controversial. I had a similar situation in which the spouse fought bitterly to destroy our family, to end the life of my relative. Just like Micheal, she made the life of my grandparents and my relatives siblings a living hell. But we MUST forgive.

I Pray that Micheal will atone and repent and i hope you will pray with me

Her prayer request said "Jesus taught forgiveness so we must forgive." Jesus said if your brother sins, rebuke him. THEN if he repents, forgive him. Forgiveness without repentance is unreasonable.

I'm covered in the blood, dear FRiend!
And thank you for the reminder!

They have broken God's Law! And He will deal with them as He sees fit.

But yet we must all forgive! This is for our own benefit.

But it's hard for some, to see beyond today.

Check back a little later for that to take place.
These things can't be forced.
People are still bleeding from battle......

I just happen to be able to pray for conviction to take place.

Asking forgiveness of everyone is a bit premature, at this point. ;-)

The Lord will have to speak to the hearts of His people.

Yes, we must forgive and pray for this murdering scumbag.

At the same time, we must use what he has done as a catalyst for change that is now needed more than ever.

Ok I see where that came from. Personally, (and I say this respectfully, without malice) I think it is a bit arrogant for us to think it is for us to forgive.

It is Mans idea that one sin is worse than another. In Gods eyes sin is sin.

James 2:10 For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.

I assume you are referring to Luke 17:3
Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him.
Again, Michael did not trespass against me.

Cordially,
GE

Sorry, I must be a bit more careful who I pick to respond to. My comments were general to the conversation of the thread, not directed at you in particular.

Just a bit more...
In todays world people associate forgiveness with condoning the sin. Jesus never condoned sin, even though he forgives. You are very correct in that forgiveness is asked for, (I'll go a bit further, as I'm sure you would too) and only granted when their is true repentance for the transgression.
If you remember the woman at the well. While Jesus did not condemn her, he also told her to go and sin no more.

FRegards,
GE

You are very kind, you are a much kinder person than I am; a much better Christian. Michael Schiavo doesn't want the prayers I would say for him today.

But, your heart is in the right place and I admire you for that.

That's okay, dear FRiend!
I do the same thing sometimes. But good to talk to you!

Maybe this day will come to a close quickly, for it has been rather sad.

God Bless you GE!
May God Bless all of us!

Ivan, in all truth, it isn't just Michael Schiavo who has re-opened that door, but he HAS worked hard to give it a respectability it has lacked for a while. Maybe we should pray for him, because his butt may be in for a big bad bite at some point down the road.

Because, as any idiot should realize, it starts with "fetuses" and "vegtables" but it NEVER ends there.

I still don't see where it is for us to forgive.

I would suggest that we forgive them for devaluing all of us, as humans; but more importantly, pray ernestly that they might be converted to repentence for this dastardly killing.

None of which should or will keep us from fighting to prevent this from ever happening again.

You people "turning the other cheek" is why the Left makes the inroads it has.
