This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in . There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news . Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

New folk and occasional posters, jump right in and introduce yourselves, tell us about your horses, and post pictures if you've got them!
Maybe... they can see IP addresses when you sign up... and they ban returning bannees whether he behaves or not.
GOOD FOR Lance:)
Wow, Juma must really be good:)
No, actually Rocky is not that big of a horse, very wide, and bulky yes, but very short. 14.1

Good morning.
Becky
Just looking at him makes me want to cry. How horrible and what a good man to fight to get what he could out.
Good morning!
Just came back in from feeding breakfast. Saw two mice. I need a couple more barn kitties. Ones that can see and might actually hunt ;~D Gidget tries, but she's too big to get into the small places where they hide.
I dunno.... we'll see :~D
Mornin'. :-)
I was wondering what the removed comment was about. I am glad it was not someone sabotaging the thread.
No, it was just our troll ;~D
I feel very bac for the owners of the horses and the barn.
Any clues to the cause? Hay, or wiring, unless someone did something else that was careless.
My boarding stable barn will have outside exits to runs for all horses.
I haven't seen mice in my barn for awhile. Funny how they go in cycles. They'll just about overrun it for awhile, then disappear....
We had some excitment here last night. We have a neighbor that is a quadrapeligic, who has a special van he drives built for him and his wheelchair. He had a stroke about 2 months ago, but seemed to have recovered. He had another one last night across from our driveway and drove off the road into trees. Before anyone could get to him, and being confused I guess from the stroke he just kept going forward and backwards between trees. Really mess his van up.
Beth and her husband drove by and saw him, they called his wife, and came and got Mack to help get him out of the van, he's a pretty good size man, and put him in his wifes van to get him to the hospital. Then Mack and Steve got the van out of the trees and took it to his house.

Oh dear... poor guy.
Another beautiful day here. But I'm not sure I'll have time to ride. Dinner company tonight, and I didn't get the mowing done, so lots of chores to do.
Becky
Have not heard of a cause yet. Speaking of mice, those little suckers will chew wire, and cause shorts. My SIL put all the wire in the barn in that conduit. The rats/mice built a nest in my Cub Cadet mower. Chewed wires, messed up the whole darn thing, for a tune of almost $300 to fix!!
Good tip!
LOL !!! Sounds like me! ;o)
This is why my vet advised me to give Truly a shot of Occytocin right after birth. It cleans them out.
So sorry to hear about Jim's Dad! You will be in my prayers.
I imagine I'll give her something after foaling, if she ever does again:), to make sure this doesn't happen. I'm going write that name down so I"ll remember. Thanks.
Becky
Will you ask if we can have him back if we promise to really try to keep him on the horse thread? :')))
And I thought it was a myth that wimmen are attracted to bad boys... ;~D
LOL. I married one:')
