This is a horse chat thread where we share ideas, ask for input from other horsemen, and talk about our riding and horse-keeping. We have a lot of different kinds of riders and horses, and a lot to share. In the previous threads we have had a great time talking through lessons, training, horse lamenesses, illnesses and pregnancies... and always sharing pictures and stories.
I always have a link to this thread on my profile page, so if you have something to say and can't find the thread in latest posts… look for it there and wake the thread up!
I also have a ping list for horse threads that are of interest, and Becky pings everyone most mornings. Let Becky (Paynoattentionmanbehindthecurtain) and/or me know if you would like to be on the ping list. As FreeRepublic is a political site, our politics and other issues will probably blend in…. There are many issues for horsemen that touch politics… land use, animal rights/abuse cases that make the news…. Legislation that might affect horse owners.
So... like the previous threads, this is intended as fun place to come and share stories, pictures, questions and chit-chat, unguided and unmoderated and that we come together here as friends. There are lots of ways of doing things and we all have our quirks, tricks and specialties that are neat to learn about.

Wouldn't it be something to have a correspondance program like this where you did the clinical under a preceptor like your trainer or something. There were a lot of classes there that had stuff that I would love to learn.
Well I just had a scare. My son come running in yelling that the neighbors though Cindy had been hit by a car. It's just her arthritis. She's walking 3 legged. I gave her a happy pill . Funny. Sunday she was running and jumping al over the place. Maybe that's why she's limping now huh?
She over-did... Gidget does that a lot these days... it's middle age. :~D
Yeah. She's hiding under my desk right now enjoying the attention. Coochie the crazy cat won't leave her alone. I don't know if he's worried or taking advantage but he keeps crawling all over and pawing and nipping at her.
I am so sorry for you and your family, praying that you find comfort knowing they are together now.
Anyone up? Both of Cindy's legs out now. I've pretty much maxed her out with the rimadyl but she was whimpering in the kitchen so I made her a bed and got behind her and lifted her up and carried her to the bedroom. I put a warm wet towel on her hip and she's sleeping comfortably . She was dead weight though and my lower back and shoulder aching now:'(

Wade Bascom, owner of the Park Road property in Leavittsburg, talks about the early morning horse barn fire, which claimed seven horses, an 11-day-old filly and a donkey. Bascom and a township officer tried to rescue as many animals as possible from the flames.
Great pics, Hair!! I need to try to get some new ones. There is a new neighbor a couple of farms over from me and they are building a covered arena, just got the structure up yesterday. I need to post some pics of that so ya'll can see what my new view is going to be. I hope they're nice people and invite me over to ride on rainy days.

I found out how much Juma is being sold for, somewhere between $30,000 and $35,000. His winnings are up to $10,000 and he's qualified for some world finals. Oh, and LG got married. To a woman. Go figure.

On the bright side... We got a hello from Keith at 4830. Looks like the moderators spotted him as soon as he got in and zotted him.
With the name "KeithSupportsBush" He said "Crap, I get banned for a few months and Tuffy goes around spreading all kinds of rumors about me."
Poor guy... he's tagged as a troll now, he can't come back.
Yeah, I saw that. He said something on a thread that I posted that got him nailed pretty quickly. Keith, if you're reading this, try, just try, to act normal and you won't get zotted.
