Is it just me, or do some folks in here drop a thread cold when certain people post to it?

I have noticed that when I post a reply, very frequently the thread I have posted to dies... I am starting to get a little complex here folks... What am I doing wrong?

I had the same thing happen to me when I first came aboard.
Its even worse to post an article and have no one even give you a "humph"
Kinda like--If you posted an article and no one read it was it there?
