Well just wondering where we all stand I'll start with mine.
Your political compass Economic Left/Right: 4.88 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -2.92
Take the test at: http://www.politicalcompass.org
I'm slightly conservative, slightly authoritarian. According to the world leaders' chart, I'm right about where Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin is. (shrug)
I can't believe it - I'm right in the crosshairs. Dead in the middle. I mean, like, the total CENTER.
So this means that the right (if by right we mean religious social conservatives who believe abortion and gay marriage are wrong) is actually the center? I always thought so...
I'm just one click North of you.
They way they asked some of the questions seemed pretty hokey, since they corralled me into answers that didn't allow much latitude. Specially questions that related to social things.
Is charity better than Social Security, for a severly disadvantaged person?
What does that mean? What is the "disadvantage"- gambling, drugs, alcohol, auto accident, mental illness, cancer? Social security IS charity, forced charity. It more like reverse-insurance, where the other insured benefit IF YOU DIE, since there's more left for them.

I'm about the same as John Howard.

Although I'm a hard-liner on foreign policy and national defense and I have a very "capitalist" economic bent, I guess I got docked "conservative points" for strongly advocating the legalization of pot, urging the government to stay out of our sexual behaviors, and noting that bottled water is an extremely sad trait of our society (more like misplaced priorities than corporate greed, however).
I agree with you except on the bottled water issue, if anything that indicates a good amount of extra cash people have to spend.
Both of us may be suffering from post-election/political fatigue. Try the survey again in February.
You qualify for the Coalition of the Willing. LOL
I'm 4.50 on the economic scale and 2.56 on the social scale, which puts me near Jacques Chirac and Gerhard Schroder.
I'm not sure that's a good thing.
Take this example:
John Kerry on the right??? No way.
I'm not so sure they have Howard placed in the RIGHT spot.
But I am in the coalition of the coerced
