Are you sure that you are not signed into your operating system under a diferent user/profile, ie, this is coming from other than Firefox? I can not find anything in Firefox regarding this.

I don't know what happened, but you can try quitting and restarting your computer. That might help.

Delete the file where you put firefox. (I'm assuming you also have another browser) Do a disc cleanup. Download firefox 1.0 and do not use any defaults. Select your own settings. It's actually a small file to download so time is no big deal.
