Just announced here in Atlanta, WSB will pre-empt "Saving Private Ryan" in favor of some Jimmy Carter special. Their excuse? Private Ryan has harsh language. Do you all believe that?
What's so "special" about Jimmy Carter?
WTF??????? I'd rather see Saving Private Ryan, then something abot Jimmy Carter.
but Carter had harsh policies. pre-empt him with a fiery Stormin' Norman speech
This a sick joke right?
I understand there is a 'special' report about arafat right now, too.
Carter had a harsher effect on the economy.
The fact that they embrace Jimmy Carter says it all.
I think private Ryan is a little too pro military for our left leaning local station. Maybe I am hyper-sensitive?
They misspelled "has a conservative message".
Unlike, say, Jimmy Carter.
Two Nobel Peace Prize winners cut from the same rag.
I'm sorry, but fercryinoutloud, ain't you got a Blockbuster?
Yes, I know tomorrow is Veteran's Day. I'll be flying my father-in-law's flag instead of our regular one (he was in WWII).
But c'mon, SPR has been out on VHS/DVD for several years. And surely the TV version has to be greatly sanitized which loses the effect.
I'm not defending the station OR Carter. I just don't think it's worth raisin' a ruckus.
But maybe that's just me...
Disgraceful. Will they show him with his buddy, Michael Moore?
FYI, they are running Saving Private Ryan uncut -- rated TVMA.
The TV station may be afraid that the ninnies will call the FCC.
I have been know to pull a few of those, but not even I can be this perverted. My wife and I were stunned when it was just announced. She wants me to email WSB and call them communists.
I didn't hear about the Jimmy Carter Special. I picture him in a top hat performing a tap dance number accompanied by a rendition of 'i've got a lovely bunch of coconuts.' Then, special guest Jerry Lewis comes out for a comedy team routine with jimmy.
Well Jimmy is the local boy who left town, went to Washington and became one of the worst presidents in modern American history. That is a real distinction for the man of peace who never lied to us, right.
The DU'ers think this is a conspiracy by the Bush administration to keep realistic war images off television to maintain support for the Iraq war.
I'm dead serious.
Who cares about that damned peanut farmer.
