Amazing Aurora Borealis display tonight, if you're able to view it.
Just a heads-up.
Cool.
I'll check it out.
Thanks.
Times approximation anyone ?
What part of the state are you in Mary?
Hopefully it'll be an "all-nighter."
Guess it's not to be seen in Oklahoma. Drats.
That's not that great of a map of the visible oval. These are better:

Actually, it SHOULD be visible in North Carolina, Tenessee, and Oklahoma at this precise moment (given good viewing conditions.)
Sadly I've moved to the DC suburbs..going to glance but I doubt I'll see much.
Do you have the ability to take any pictures? We're in Washington, and it is clear out tonight, but it isn't dark here yet, and I haven't ever really seen an aurora display here in all my years.
I just took a couple digital pictures off my deck, but I don't think they're viewable.
I think you need some pretty sophisticated equipment to get decent shots of the Aurora.
Figures.... thanks for trying. We'll try to take a look tonight, though it's pretty treed where we are and we can't see much sky.
Ive seen them once from southern Mi. I think it was in 92 that there was an especially widespread display that was seen as far south as Texas. We saw them more often when I lived in northern Mi.
Activity has dropped a lot in the last 15 minutes.
Prior to that there were sighting reports from Southern Ohio, Kentucky, and New Jersey.

Where in northern MI? My cottage is Lewiston, amazing northern lights! On clear nights you can see space junk with the naked eye.
We lived up near Petoskey.
Guess we can't see it from Miami, damn.
Should we be able to see it in Philly?
dufekins map indicates that it may be viewable from Philly, though it will need to be bright to overcome the city lights. I'm reckoning that it may be bright, though.
Thank you.
