DREIER LOSES ELECTION DAY VOTE!!!
It is 2:20am on November 3, 2004. I wanted to make it clear to everyone that while we lost the election we won election day. Dreier broke out in an early lead after the absentee ballots were counted. From that moment forward every time new results were release Matthews gained ground on him. As far as votes cast on November 2nd Dreier lost. The absentee votes saved him. Plus he had to spend a million dollars to keep his job. This is the closest race Dreier has ever had. This campaign was a success.
Dreier you lost the support of many people and it is only going to get worse from here. This is the beginning for 2006.
Your point in posting this?
What the hell are you talking about? Drier won with 54+% of the vote. Get a life!
John and Ken look like the idiots they are.
Dreier may be disappointing on immigration (and he is) but he has a lifetime ACU rating of 92%. I'm glad he got a scare but also glad he retained his seat.
The lesson for John & Ken types to learn for 2006 is: attack GOP incumbents ONLY IN THE PRIMARY. After that it's time to suck it up and support the GOP nominee until the NEXT primary.
What is a "corporatist"?
and how about they take the issue to the DemoncRATs while this time they only threw in Baca to make it seem fair that they loved bashing on Dreier. I have come to really hate those (John & Ken) guys.
Screw Dreier, he is a disgrace on immigration and a major RINO.
53.7% of the votes!
Geee....welcome to CA election returns. CA Republican party has always heavily encouraged absentee voting, which gives R candidates an early lead.
Now that 2004 election is over, we have TWO years to focus the Republican party in CA on the illegal immigration problem.
We need our reps to stand strong for interior enforcment and busting employers who break the law.

Quick definition from the articles:
What is corporatism? In a (somewhat inaccurate) phrase, socialism for the bourgeois. It has the outward form of capitalism in that it preserves private ownership and private management, but with a crucial difference: as under socialism, government guarantees the flow of material goods, which under true capitalism it does not.
Good point. Babs Boxer really COULD have been vulnerable to a J&K onslaught, as occurred with Grayout Davis, but no -- they thought it would "prove how non-partisan they are" to attack Dreier. Not Boxer, but rather Dreier. Riiiiiight. (Sure, Boxer probably would have won even if targeted by them, but isn't her record far worse than his?)
Oh...well, that explains everything.
You should change your screen name.
You are a Republican so your are a WINNER.
Its kind of said and depressing....
As anyone would tell you, spreading depression is MY job.
The John and Ken "Control the Borders Now" initiative will only now snowball. We have given the GOP, 55 senators. We now have to see our border controlled or heads will roll.
The lesson for John & Ken types to learn for 2006 is: attack GOP incumbents ONLY IN THE PRIMARY.
The CA republican party IGNORED the candidate that challenged Dreier in the primary (and will probably do so again) because they are cowards on this issue.
The people who now bring up the issue of illegal immigration will be slimed with the label of xenophobe, racist, nationalist, protectionist, nativist, yadda, yadda...
Dreier and his ilk will not listen now. He is not scared, he just got re-elected.
The only thing John and Ken did wrong is that they started this too late to affect the absentee ballots.
Boy, I don't wanna even think who you consider a 'good' Republican when someone with a 92% ACU rating is considered a 'RINO'.
Yes, we need to educate people about the harmfulness of illegal immigrants, but one issue a RINO does not make!
Wouldn't if be great if we could get reps in California voting a 92% ACU. Imagine the work we'd have to do. But first we'd have to defeat Dreier to get deeper into the enormous hole we're in. Do you suppose we could all get together on this idea?
