Like many of you, I've noticed a lot of posts mentioning Fox News' "move to the left."

What are your thoughts, FReepers? Truth, or fiction? Reasons? Opinions?

We should remind Fox that they are abandoning their base (which is us). All we want is "fair & balanced."

E-mail them with your comments and I'll forward the thread to them in a couple of days.

Feel free to add more addresses, links to evidence, etc.

Thanks.

The way Fox News seems to sway, I wonder what memos their broadcasters get....

Yes, Fox has leaned left. But John Gibson, Sean Hannity, Brenda Buttner, David Asman and Stuart Varney are the exceptions.

Fox News is where the cash is (or at least, is gonna be) so naturally the not quite top of the heap from elsewhere -- just as partisan Democrat as the rest -- are going to get hired there. FreeRepublic isn't going to go away, though. The price of liberty is eternal vigilance.

I also want Fox to stay "fair." If the media is "fair," we win on substance!

I don't want "bias." If you think conservatives deal in the truth, then we have an advantage.

Yes, but FR "preaches to the choir."

So does talk radio, conservative publishing, etc. The ONLY broadcast news outlet we have that is reasonably fair is Fox News.

The libs/MSM have been trying to marginalize Fox by calling it conservative....it's not. It's just "fair and balanced." (or has been)

I had to stop watching FOX and Friends this morning. Dumb ED said that showing Micael Moore's movie on tv would make showing the anti Kerry movie more fair and balanced. Thats it for me. NO more morning FOX.

Whoa neighbors. I can't even believe I'm reading this on Freep! Have to agree with The Hollywood Conservative above that Fox is doing their job when they stay fair and balanced and report what they see -- which imho they are succeeding right now on that front.

Have you forgotten about Brit Hume and Sean Hannity? These guys are straight shooters. Thank God they understand what fair and balanced means.

As far as debate analysis, FNC has been the ONLY channel to give it decent coverage. The other channels are like watching a pro-kerry party. FNC is covering the election in a fair way, they don't show a bunch of propaganda like their competitors. I like them for that. Show us the truth, we know who is right, and we know who will win. We don't need the journalists making up our minds for us. I think FNC is the only news channel that is legit these days...

ive been posting this repeatedly....The president of FOX's

parent company,NewsCorp, peter chernin, is a big kerry

supporter and fundraiser. If anyone has watched Fox

objectively in this election cycle, the shift to the left has

been very clear to see. you cant hide it all behind "fair

and balanced" either. i will only watch hannity or john

gibson or a guest like laura ingraham or ann coulter.

Fox has abandoned conservatives, the very people who made

them successful. To hell with Fox as far as I'm

concerned.

O'Reilly has clearly stated that there are more liberals than conservatives on the FOX line up.

Fox is doing their job when they stay fair and balanced and report what they see...."

When O'Reilly dismissed the Swifties and their ads for spurious reasons he was not being fair and balanced.

"There is the Bill O'Reilly method, which is to abandon independent thinking and simply come out in the middle, irrespective of where the two sides are. In response to Newt Gingrich's remark that the Swift Boat Veterans' independent ads were "the conservative movement's answer to Michael Moore," O'Reilly said, "I don't want either of them."

No, FOX needs to stay fair and balanced. No more Chris Matthews, Mark Halperins, Dan Rathers, etc.

I wish they would get rid of her. I'm like it so much better when Kerian fills in for ED. ED just grates on me.

Key phrases such as unnamed sources claim, say, said (you pick) or words used in context as may, would, could (you pick) for me send up an immediate red flag on any broadcast or published piece. Honesty is fleeting in the news business.

It's about ratings...nothing else.

Fox and the alphabets are all guilty of this.
