A transcript of my husband's phone call to Dan Rather
My husband made a call to DanRather's office this morning. What follows is an actual transcript of the call
Cast of Characters
CD = Cypherdog - my husband
W1 = Woman 1 - the first person whom answered the phone
W2 = Woman 2 - the second person whom answered the phone
Ring, Ring
W1: Hello
CD: Hi, I'm wondering where Dan is registered for retirement gifts?
W1: Very funny!

Ring, Ring
W2: Hello
CD: We're wondering where Dan's retirement gifts are registered?
W2: Tiffany's.
CD: What is he interested in?
W2: Cufflinks.
CD: I was considering pajamas, what color would Dan prefer?
W2: Obviously, you don't shop at Tiffany's much, Walmart or Target are more your speed.

Now, a quick check of the online register at Tiffany's did not turn up an entry for Dan Rather, so, it looks like someone at Tiffany's has lost this important list of the wonderful gifts we're trying to pick to console our favorite newsreader. (Did find a nice pair of cufflinks there)
We did, though, find a nice Monaco bathrobe with a matching towel at Target, and this great game at Walmart. But neither Target or Walmart sells men's pajamas online. Any other suggestions as to where Dan should register?

My husband may be quiet, but he does have quite a sense of humor!

Walmart or Target are more your speed. Ah, there's the arrogance that serves the Old Media so well. That struck me too. We are just common people..not the elite. How can so many dims not see that, they continue to vote for the elite, the privileged, who scoff at the rest of us.

So can we determine from this Representative of SEEBS, on the record, that SEEBS is slamming Target and Walmart, and that the afore mentioned companies are beneath them?
I smell a hot story here! We even have a CBS insider saying it is true! LOL :)

I just gave old Dan a call myself:
The shmuck who answered the phone sounded pretty weary at this point. We really need to get the number out to show our support of "Gunga Dan".

Why do I keep hearing a stern voice saying:
"More plebes needed!"
...after reading that story?
(Origin is Caeser II and III for the PC, in case you wonder. In the game, you spent from the public budget to keep employment up; the plebes were put to cleaning fountains, building roads, and other dirty or dangerous public works projects.)

They've put a young kid on that line. I asked where Dan was registered for his resignation gifts and he didn't get it.
I explained that when one got married, you registered for bridal gifts, when you retired, you registered to list the retirement gifts you would like.
He said, "That's very interesting". Click

Give your hubby a hug from me for his sense of humor. BTW, these are the only "cuffs" I think dan blather should sport:
