I've had several cats declawed over the years. If they're too desctructive and the only other choice is the pound, the claws go.

I know they don't want you to do it anymore but it's not that bad as long a you never allow the cat outside. They recuperate fast and forget all about it.

Zia is definitely an indoor cat, until and unless she stops bouncing off the walls and actually goes through them.
