Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts is being treated for throat cancer.
Watts, 63, is mid-way through a course of radiotherapy at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea, south west London, near his home.
The musician, whose records with the Stones have sold millions around the world, was diagnosed after going into hospital in June.
Watts, who has not smoked since the 1960s when the rock band shot to fame, is said to be in "good form" and has been walking to hospital to be treated.
His bandmates have been informed and he has been supported by wife Shirley during the six-week course of treatment.
He has now completed four weeks of the treatment.
A spokesman for the band said: "Having been diagnosed with throat cancer following a minor operation in June, Charlie Watts is reaching the end of radiotherapy treatment.
"He is expecting to make a full recovery and start work with the rest of the band later in the year."
His treatment has not interfered with any tour or recording plans for the group, who have been "relaxing between work commitments", he said.
Possible tracheostomy tube in his future?
How sad is that? He hasn't smoked at least 35 years, is known for being the clean-living Stone, and he still gets throat cancer. Meanwhile, Keith Richards keeps on rocking, even though he's ingested every drug known to man.
there are so many drugs in Richards body, it has a street value of 1 million dollars.
Best wishes to Charlie for a full recovery. Frankly, I'm amazed that he, Mick, and Keith have made it into their 60's. I think Ronnie Wood is still in his 50's (and yes, I know Brian Jones checked out a long time ago).

Too bad for all of us. I have no sympathy for any of these truly low life scum.
Watts would have been the least objectionable. Too bad for him. He can go visit Brian now.
Hoepfully all the others will be soon to follow.
Their presence on this earth has made a much worse world for all of us.
You can't always get what you want...
WTF? Wishing death on another. That's pure hate.

Probably, and an then an ever-present Audiovox...
What Would Jesus Say?, probably go and sin no more,, most likely not may you die and vanish from the earth,, of course that doesn't mean they are not all still pieces of crap,,
I'm sorry to hear about this. IIRC Charlie also played some jazz gigs with the locals. He is always the "calm" at the drum throne and makes it look effortless. Prayers for Charlie and his family.
:o)

That a real forgiving Christian attitude. (sarcasm)
Hate like this is why Republicans got such a bad reputation during the last 2 generations.
BTW: My father died from throat cancer and it can be an extremely miserable way to go. You shouldn't wish it on anybody-especially some airheaded musician.
What would Jesus say? What are you talking about?
As far as that, who knows. Maybe what you said. Maybe something like this:
It were better for him that a millstone, were hanged about his neck, and he should offend one of these little ones.
What nonsense.
Maybe I'm even mean spirited.
You are brainwashed well.
Judge not and you won't be judged.
Judge not and you won't be judged. I, for one, have been to concerts on the last three RS tours, they are like a fine wine. Get well Charlie.
sorry to hear it....I guess we are getting old.....
Is that you, Alan Keyes?
