On Fox News' panel this morning, Susan Page of USA Today said she'd been visiting in the Midwest this week and found that "people are starting to be skeptical about Kerry's Viet Nam record". I translate that to say Kerry's very vulnerable right now. You guys have set up the ball, now it's time to drive it home.
I and others have contributed to your organization and you need to use that money to run a new 30-second ad...something like this:
[O'Neill with swift boat picture on screen behind him]That's all you need to say. Stop wrangling over every little detail of his record---it's too muddled. The public, but especially reporters, will get it when you demand he release his files. I believe most reporters honestly think Kerry has released all his records and will be surprised by this ad. (They don't like being surprised.) Remember the old adage: Keep it simple, stupid. That's what this ad would do."Two weeks ago Swift Boat Veterans for Truth ran its first ad pointing out the inconsistencies in John Kerry's version of events when he served in Viet Nam. Kerry's spin machine immediately began to smear the personal integrity of these highly decorated veterans rather than address the specific questions we raised. Ironically, the Kerry campaign has now had to recant major portions of one of his claims, that he fought in Cambodia in 1968."

eff'n's up there jerking with the very people who saw their sons go off to fight that stupid "war," and who know the pain of having them returned in a coffin, or not at all.
Don't try to b.s. those folks - they know what's real and what's phony.
