This is the 1st edition of a thread dealing with Keywords and Ping-lists. Farmfriend has put something together dealing with ping lists, which will be posted as a reply below. Also I will be doing updates posted as a reply to this thread so scroll down for the most complete lists.
If you are reading an article and want more information you can often find related threads by clicking on a Keyword appearing at the bottom of that article. You can also do a Keyword search. Search results are listed in the order the Keywords were added which may not be the same order that the threads were posted in. Keywords are forum specific so that while you are in the News Forum you won’t find articles posted in the Chat Forum. There have been thousands of Keywords used and all of them including the misspellings and witty comments can yield interesting search results.
Keywords can be used as a way to break up the 700 or so threads posted each day into smaller groups related to a specific topic like the Bump Lists did.
I will be creating updates to this list and you can help by providing me with some of the Keywords you find most useful. At the bottom I will describe how to format Keyword submissions so that I can easily include them. The 1st list will have the Keyword as a link followed by an explanation or in the case of Iraq a list of some of the related Keywords. All of the links to Keywords are for the News Forum. In the 1st list include the most useful Keywords. The 2nd list will be separated by semicolons.

Airline Security : Airline Security
Al Qaeda : Al Qaeda; Al Qaida or any other spelling
Aliens : Non-citizens and the assimilation of new Citizens
Animal Rights : Animal Rights
Bang : Everything to do with Guns or anything to do with self-defense
Climate Change : Global Warming or the Coming Ice Age, which ever occurs first
Conspiracy : Some Conspiracies are Real, most are just fun
Eco-terror : ALF, ELF, Eco-terrorism, Eco-terrorist and those who destroy in the name of the Environment
Election Us House : Election Us House
Election Us Senate : Election Us Senate
Energy : Oil, Natural Gas, Coal, Electricity; Hydrogen Fuel Cells or anything energy related
Environment : Environmentalists, Environmentalism or anything related to the Environment
Iraq : Iraq (GNFI; Iraqi Debt; Iraqi Economy; Iraqi Justice; Iraqi Oil; Kurds; Prisoner Saddam; Rebuilding Iraq; Red Dawn;)
Privacy : Threats or potential threats to your privacy
Property Rights : Eminent Domain, Zoning, Land Use Planning, Homeowners Associations or anything affecting the ability to use Private Property
South Asia : India, Pakistan, Afghanistan and surrounding Countries
South East Asia : Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines and especially the Al Qaeda related terrorists in the area.

Copying http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/keyword/ followed by the Keyword into the address bar will yield a Keyword Search in the News Forum.
Please leave a space between words in a multi word Keyword. To include Keywords in the 1st list put the Keyword on the 1st line, the definition on the 2nd line and then a blank line before the next Keyword.

ooo that is a thought but it would be a second user name and would have to be cleared with management. Right now, though done by many, it is grounds for bannishment.
