Sir:
Regardless what euphemism you place on your plan to legalize illegal aliens currently in the United States, it is an effectual amnesty.
The only reason current immigration laws are not working is because they are not enforced.
We already tried an amnesty in 1986 which resulted in the situation we are dealing with today. If your amnesty plan is enacted, it will result in at least 60 million new residents in the USA, (considering that each of the current illegal residents have at least 4 family members to be legalized also).
I consider your outrageous plan to be pandering to the so called "Hispanic" vote and capitulation to the Mexican Government.
There is a solution:
1. Enforce current Employer Sanctions Laws, and,
2. Secure our borders through any means necessary.
If the above two steps are enacted, there need not be mass deportations or any other politically incorrect steps on your part. The current illegal alien population will slowly disperse back to their native lands once benefits and employment dry up.
I have voted Republican for at least the last 15 election cycles. If your plan is passed and you sign it into law, I will not vote for you or any other politician who supports your position.
Karl Rove may have told you that I have "nowhere else to go", but I assure you, that will not deter me from my efforts to assure that you are a one-term president like your father.
Sincerely.
Dave Stoddard
