Gorgeous! Looking great! I think I will do well to just walk Bay around a bit even bareback in blanket to get him back in gear now.
It took us SIX HOURS (!!!!!) to get those two horses ready for the hunt. They had to have their whiskers, ears, and fetlocks clipped, then a full bath and conditioner and Show Sheen everywhere but on the mane, THEN since my daughter has never braided I had to braid BOTH horses . . . Gracie mare has a rather sparse mane, so it's difficult to braid it neatly, and Magnum is very head shy due to an ear infection he had years ago. So it took a long time . . . but the results I think fully justified the work, they looked their best.
The hunt ran for almost three hours, the hounds found once but didn't run the fox very far. Lots of checks and sitting around while the hounds drew covert after covert, but we got in some good gallops and some excellent jumping. Unfortunately the country is two hours away in Commerce GA so we had to get up at 4:00 a.m. . . . ugh. And then after cooling out and loading the horses we faced another two hours drive home . . . oh, well, I still think it was worth it. Hunting can be habit forming.
