It may be the rubber boots. I used to wear 'em riding, and I used to have all sorts of trouble with cracking, scaling, itching, etc. Do you think you might have a really bad case of athlete's foot?
If ya gotta wear the boots, I would wear polypro liner socks and wool socks outside of that to keep the perspiration from parboiling your feet.

I don't think it's athletes foot..never had it before. Doesn't that itch? This doesn't itch, it's just cracked open...feels like a knife cut when I walk.

I don't think it's athletes foot..never had it before.Let's see the feet 2J.... Including in-between the toes. Have to in order to make a proper diagnosis.
If it is... Tinactin, and bleach the boots too from time to time.
