Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Where Many Paths and Errands Meet...
The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say.

Breads done, I'm off to play hospital delivery...

It's a... Kyocera Rave7. Kinda a slacker phone, very teen/twenty oriented, but the best deal of the three they had. Very sleek little phone. Small. Pretty good minutes, and I can pay online.

I'm off to play hospital delivery...That really threw me for a minute. Forgot the situation. Was talking to a friend early today about home births. Delivery on the brain was of a different kind!
You shouldn't scare me like that! I think I'm gonna go make some arepas.

Was talking to a friend early today about home births. Heh...that'd be Christmas miracle alright...
To: Corin Stormhands
Not going to go there....
But on the other hand, home births sound like the most barbaric idea. I'm sure some people like them, but... well, several of my sibs wouldn't be here if Mom had tried that...

We had friends that did that. I think 3-4 times even. Both our boys came early by c-section. Mrs. has never even been in labor.
To: Corin Stormhands
My mother was in labor once. With me. For, what, twelve hours? Before they gave her a c-section. And then every time afterwards they did the same thing...

I think my mom was in labor for a little over an hour with me - n - Ramius each time.... Ramius was just about birthed in the hallway waiting for a room, and the doctor only made it to my birth by six minutes.
We just got in from feeding ponies. It is super wet out so I made sure to bring them in early.
Called anyone yet? Have you not had a cell phone before? - The free long distance is a neat thing. It is gonna change the way phone calls are billed in the next few years.... The wireline side is not going to survive charging long distance.

Haven't called anyone yet. This is my first cellphone - remind me to give the number to a couple of you guys so if I go missing for a couple days you can find me...

Corin; no medicine smell? no eyes watering? How can that work? Wizardry? Actually, I think I used to get better quicker just smelling the stuff.
OT: you got a plan there, drive carefully. Guess you've seen the way most of the drivers act when there is snow on the ground.
Hair; Sam's got her's too; she can't be calm in a thunderstorm or even a heavy rain, LSA does true yeoman duty with Sam during those times. We thought she would get over it but nearly 5 years later she still tries to dig through her bed and the floor.

Gidget has the fireworks-gunfire-thunderstorm neurosis too!
She barks. And then chews her leg.

I'm kinda hoping the roads will be mostly clear by tomorrow afternoon.
To: Corin Stormhands
Heh...that'd be Christmas miracle alright... It would be an interesting new chapter in your life 'o the year though! LOL
To: JenB
Speaking as someone who's had both kinds of birth I can say first hand that the one at home is much safer and less painful! Don't decide till you try 'em.
To: Corin Stormhands
Mrs. has never even been in labor.Wow! That's a concept! Have no complaints about labor though. Only hospital crap.
To: HairOfTheDog
Heh... I had births like your mom. Not much to it.... except while you're in it!
To: Corin Stormhands
I should just quit cooking completely. I made the stew yesterday. It's not half gone and I'm tired of it. I wanted arepas and it's hard to make only a couple.... so I got about a dozen now and only ate 3.
I need to just learn to eat out.
No freezer room for this stuff.... that's a sore spot... so that won't work either.
To: Overtaxed
OT: well, the center portion around town here is pretty clear and we don't get that much traffic, so I'm thinking the roads will be mostly clear.
Kinda quiet evening, fire burning slowly, lights on the tree, we have much to be grateful for.

Of course last time the secondary road was clearer than the highway. :)
