Saving democracy apparently requires a collection department. Before Americans finish casting their ballots, one proposal for the next Democratic majority already identifies a promising destination for political combat: Stephen Miller’s bank account.
An October 28 National News Brief opinion column argues that Democrats should create a civil cause of action that lets people harmed by executive branch abuses sue federal officials for damages.
Trump has no use for pretense, and he’s not interested in playing along. He thinks he is a law unto himself; that he holds sovereign authority over the entire country; that he can rule by decree and punish those who resist. As one would expect, his administration has been an exercise in breaking the law, exceeding its bounds and violating its spirit. His lawyers may dutifully argue that their client is acting within his lawful authority, but the character of his actions betrays contempt for the law itself.
His basic approach, in fact, is to ignore or break the law and hope that the Republican-appointed majority on the Supreme Court will use his lawbreaking to advance its pet ideological projects. Chief Justice John Roberts, to use just one example, is preoccupied with the expansion of executive power at the expense of Congress. And it seems that in his view, an erratic, lawless president is a small price to pay for summoning the unitary executive into existence.
Then comes the revealing sales pitch: Even if Miller can’t be held criminally accountable, Democrats could help “drain his bank account.”
That’s an opinion writer’s recommendation, not an adopted Democratic platform. It nevertheless offers a useful look at the punishment some Trump opponents want their party to pursue after the election. The proposed remedy arrives with a named political enemy and an anticipated financial result.

Steven Miller is an attorney and super intelligent.
He is also very strategic.
This is one where the hunter becomes the hunted and their bank accounts are the accounts emptied.
Over 100 years of progressivism and now marxism, The USA has mostly destroyed its original, limited-powers, Constitutional government.
We have given ever-increasing power to the central government.
This statist centralized power grab and social-engineering has been fueled by printed, fiat money, and massive debt, courtesy of our central bank.
Like ancient empires, our politics will now devolve into which faction can control the capital. Politics is guaranteed to become increasingly vengeful and violent.
To survive as a Republic, America needs RADICAL decentralization. that means effective bankruptcy of the Federal Government and return of power to the States.
For people claiming to be anti-fascist they’re sure doing an excellent job pushing real fascism.
Pardon everyone
He actually is not an attorney. He did start America First Legal which employs lawyers and exists to fight political legal battles.
Peak TDS.
Haters gonna hate. Tyrants gonna tyrant. The lengths these evil scumbags go to seize power is disgusting. Steven Miller is a hero with razor sharp wit.
And just like that...
“Trump has no use for pretense, and he’s not interested in playing along. He thinks he is a law unto himself”
I don’t believe that but I can see how one would come to that conclusion knowing he was a New York Democrat for many, many years. New York Dems worked with the unions and mafia to make their own laws.
Thank you. I stand corrected.
I knew he attended Duke University. I thought it was the Law School, but it was undergraduate.
He was active in conservative politics. I remember him as I first arrived at Duke about the same time he left, 2007.
Go on take the money and run.
EXACTLY HOW????
A Convention Of States could do that but there is too much fear porn involved for it to happen. Elon Musk is working on the next best solution: expanding Civilization off planet. The great thing about space is how vast in size it is. Nobody can make you live with people you don't want to out there. You simply move further away from the rotten governments. It is a very unforgiving environment so morons will die off quickly.
Sounds like an illegal conspiracy and the conspirers should be investigated and maybe punished.
Only two years out from the end of Biden admin , no statute of limitations to stand in the way. Let Eisen show us how it’s done, then have it . Tens, hundreds of thousands of people of US citizens denied homes because illegals ( My word, now there is one “actual” illegal named Bolsonaro!/s) through NGO’s occupy , should be a potent clas action against Mayorkas , or the NGO’s themselves, who won’t have the implied immunity of administration officials.

If you have no capacity for violence then you are a healthy productive citizen, a sheep. If you have a capacity for violence and no empathy for your fellow citizens,
then you have defined an aggressive sociopath, a wolf. But what if you have a capacity for violence, and a deep love for your fellow citizens? What do you have then? A sheepdog, a warrior, someone who is walking the hero’s path. Someone who
can walk into the heart of darkness, into the universal human phobia, and walk out unscathed.
......
The sheep generally do not like the sheepdog. He looks a lot like the wolf. He has fangs and the capacity for violence. The difference, though, is that the sheepdog
must not, can not and will not ever harm the sheep. Any sheep dog who intentionally harms the lowliest little lamb will be punished and removed. The world cannot work any other way, at least not in a representative democracy or a republic such as ours.
What do you see in Trump? A wolf or a sheepdog/warrior?
And then
Fly Like an Eagle!
Kind of like Tom Fitton. Not an attorney, but manages attorneys re legal issues.
