High-profile races that will determine which party controls the Senate for the next two years are extremely tight, according to a new CNN poll, as Maine and Kansas remain close and Democrats extended their leads in Texas and Michigan.
Democrats, who are widely projected to win a majority in the House of Representatives, need to flip four Senate seats from red to blue in order to gain a 51-seat majority, protecting their majority from the vice presidential tiebreaker.
Maine
In Maine, Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, is the only Republican incumbent running in a state that went for Kamala Harris in 2024.
Collins' Democratic challenger is Troy Jackson, the former president of the state Senate who jumped into the race as a replacement for the previous nominee, scandal-plagued Graham Platner.
Forty-nine percent of respondents told the outlet's pollsters they favored Jackson, compared to 45% for Collins. While Jackson is slightly ahead, at least 12.5% of voters say they could still change their minds.
Respondents tied Collins to her party less than any other Republican running for Senate in the nation, with 46% of respondents saying they believe she would choose her constituents over the Republican Party.

CNN polls reported by Fox as truth? Why do old people, so-called conservatives, watch that crap? “Hey, she is quite the dish.”
Total horse crap. If Sayed were really leading in Michigan he would NOT be pandering to the blacks, he wouldnt need them
What is with you on the poll fascination?
Don’t you know that the polls have underestimated GOP vote results for decades?
Are you aware that groups such as Wedgewood Polls that admitted it fabricated poll numbers for several high profile Senate races this year?
The polls are nothing less than propaganda and you are stupidly eating it up. Wise up!
Or are you pushing the propaganda? Hmm.
Less than a week before the 2024 election:
CNN Polls: Harris has a narrow edge in Michigan and Wisconsin, while she and Trump remain tied in Pennsylvania
https://www.cnn.com/2024/10/30/politics/cnn-polls-michigan-wisconsin-pennsylvania-blue-wall
So wrong and so misleading. I’m sure after this they had a discussion about the poll where the talking heads were all saying how it’s over and “Democrats can’t take it for granted”. It’s all fake. They don’t know either way. They may get it right or wrong and it’s just purely a guess. Look just HOW WRONG Wisconsin was.
I read this on another poll related thread:
“Please ask yourself two questions:
1. When was the last time that pre-election media were predicting huge Democrat losses?
2. When was the last time that pre-election media were NOT predicting huge Republican losses?
Since the pattern is obvious, why do you let it be repeated in your own mind?
This is war. Information war. Fear is the mind killer.”
Uh, no.
Rob Schmitt addressed these new CNN polls tonight on Newsmax. He said CNN loaded the polls with 18–34-year-olds (D voters), far exceeding their actual turnout thus far, while underrepresenting older folks (R voters). Probably done purposely to show Democrats ahead.
CNN conducted its polling via telephone between Oct. 20 and Oct. 27. Registered voters were randomly sampled, according to the outlet. 838 likely voters were considered in Kansas, 783 in Maine, 768 in Michigan and 923 in Texas. CNN tabulated its margins of sampling error at plus or minus 4.5% for Kansas and Maine, 4.7% in Michigan and 4.2% in Texas.
No info on percentage of Republicans or Democrats sampled just random registered voters narrowed down (somehow to likely voters) and a margin of error over 4% on all of them....sure.

Second comment Kansas has more people in their sample than Michigan and almost as many as Texas with less than one tenth the population of Texas yet even with that large sample the margin of error in Kansas is higher than Texas? How is that even possible?
There is an old Latin expression: “Cui bono” - who benefits?
Who benefits from polls (which are totally non-transparent and can and likely ARE, just made up to fit the narrative) putting out this message at this point just before an election?
Who benefits?
isn’t MOE usually 3% for decent polls?
bkmk
President Harris believes his posts
lol

Forgive my 86 year old brain, but I vaguely recall Hillary led Trump in 2016 polls by significant margin. After she lost , I lost all faith in polls.
