Bill Maher just called Trump a “badass”—and his explanation may surprise you. In this clip, Maher discusses falling crime rates, Trump’s approach to crime and immigration, surveillance, the social safety net, deportations, and the idea that a tougher presidential posture could be sending a message to criminals. But does Trump’s aggressive style actually have an effect on crime? And can you acknowledge results while still disagreeing with the methods?
Maher makes a surprising case for why Trump may be influencing public safety while also criticizing some of his immigration policies. Is this an unexpected shift in the political debate? Watch the clip and hear his argument.

“ while also criticizing some of his immigration policies”
Per Trump’s Truth post today, he’s done with this crap
“ while[maher] also criticizing some of his (Trump’s) immigration policies”
Per Trump’s Truth post today, Trump is done with Maher’s crap namely his dishonest criticisms of Trump
“When people see a strong horse and a weak horse, by nature they will like the strong horse.”
“Bill Maher just called Trump a ‘badass’”
Maher is doing as he’s told. A few influencers have been carefully selected.
THE PATRIOTS ARE IN CONTROL.
Yes. Quite.
Badass is not the term I would use in a number of important areas...like the economy or Middle East, Oil....
And Trump just Truth posted against Maher in a big way. See the existing FR thread on that.
Maher has come around to some level of common sense lately and is pulling NO punches. It’s about time!
Yes, and I am sure that you or your preferred candidate would be so badass in those areas that you speak of that even Donald himself would be in awe.
He’s being dragged kicking and screaming towards the right by his own show:
1. He can’t get his own party on his show. Obama, the Clintons, etc. will not attend. Maher says the right will come on to his hostile environment and defend their positions, but progressives will not.
2. The lies of his party have become too much for him to ignore. However he justifies it by the line “Trump is such a liar.”
3. The hypocrisy of his side is also getting too much to ignore.
4. He had a good meeting with Trump and was impressed when Trump signed the letter.
I’ve never watched his show but I seen outtakes on FB.
Liberals' idea of power is to subvert the laws to serve their own interests and also to get and keep power
It pays to be a winner.
Trump is like the gift horse that has had to endure a ridiculous number of stupid people looking him in the mouth. They have a less-than-innocent habit of scrutinizing all the wrong people.
Maher claims to be a Libertarian.
I don't see it in his rhetoric but that is his claim.
Got news for you both Parties are are filled with corrupt evil people and all are consumed with the love of money and power..
Go Trump Go!! Best POTUS ever!
Maher has been somewhat reasonable this year, after decades of being a left-wing jerk. I appreciate the change. If he continues this way, maybe he will bring some of his audience along. Has his thinking really changed?
A picture shows Maher and Trump discussing things. Trump will listen to anybody. Sometimes, that means they are digging their own grave! Maher probably relished his role as an “influencer.”
Trump a great person and president he gives a hand up not a hand out to keep people down.
