A federal judge has struck down the Trump administration's plan to check state voter rolls against federal immigration databases, a blow to the administration's election-related efforts in the run-up to the midterms.
In a 78-page ruling, D.C.-based U.S. District Judge Sparkle Sooknanan wrote Friday that the Justice Department "cannot run roughshod over longstanding laws that were carefully crafted to protect the rights of the American people."

The only way a twit like this can become a judge is due to Democrat cheaters running roughshod over long standing laws that were carefully crafted to protect the rights of the American people.
Another foreigner trying to tell us what to do.
Send this thing back home
In a suit by “Common Cause and individual voters.”
If conservatives bring a vague suit like this, for some reason they never have standing and the suit is dismissed. Here, not only does Judge Sparkle allow the suit to proceed, she finds for the plaintiffs, probably before any damage has been alleged to have occurred.
FU Judge Sparkle! Traitorous POS leftist .
Didn’t the Supreme Court already rule on this?
“cannot run roughshod over longstanding laws that were carefully crafted to protect the rights of the American people.”
Sounds like a poorly written legal argument to me. What laws?
Yup. Lawfare 2.0 has exposed the shockingly large number of foreigners appointed to the bench by Democrats. Sparkle is one of them.
Wazzit a real judge or a Democrat...or even the worstest of the worstest - a Dorkbama or Biden judge?
What's your point, Geraldine?
Sparkle strikes again! Oh, that something could be done about letting incompetent people being made judges!
Yeah, that was my response. Name half a dozen, and how they are adversely affected, judge.
A Biden appointee, of course.
What’s your point, Geraldine?
My point is that we have a real problem here. The lower Courts truly believe that they can ignore the Supreme Court.
Realizing that the decision the Supreme Court made wasn’t from this Court, still. It used to be that a lower court judge would see how the Supreme Court was leaning in one case, even if it wasn’t in their court. They would adjust their opinions accordingly not stick their head in the sand and engage in wishful thinking.
No, he is right. We have long standing tradition, though not a law, of allowing Democrats to cheat at the polls.
After all, that's the way they run things in S.E. Asia...
Danged Americans never seem to learn...
Here’s something to ponder. Making sure only eligible people are voting in our elections is making sure no cheaters run roughshod over the law. So that judge can go do you know what to himself.
In better times she would be tarred and feathered.
“...to protect the rights of the American people”
I bet Sparkle defines “the American people” to include non-citizens resident in America, and chose her words to obfuscate her intentions.
Precisely what “rights” does Sparkle claim to protect? Right to register and vote in multiple States? Right of non-citizens to vote? Who does she claim is harmed by the DoJ trying to protect CITIZEN’S from dilution of their own votes by illegal ballots?
