SpaceX's Ship 40 is almost home. After 24 days in the Indian Ocean, a trip around the Cape of Good Hope, and six weeks on the deck of a semi-submersible, the first Starship ever pulled out of the sea is about to show up at the Port of Brownsville. SpaceX just released the hot staging footage from Flight 14, and it shows a part of the booster we have never seen in action like this, plus something critical falling off the ship. Pad 2 is already getting ready for Flight 15. And then there's Starmind. Satellites with more solar power than the International Space Station, built by the thousands, launched on Starship. What are they? Why would anyone put a data center in orbit? Is SpaceX falling for an AI bubble?

SpaceX Starship Starlink Flight 14 Montage (no transcript).
SpaceX has released incredible new footage of Starlink satellites being deployed by Starship during Flight 14 on Sept. 28, 2026.
A camera aboard one of the newly deployed Starlink V3 satellites captured this remarkable view of Starship as the satellite moved away from the massive spacecraft in orbit.
Flight 14 marked the first time Starship reached orbit and the first deployment of Starlink V3 satellites from the vehicle. SpaceX deployed 26 satellites during the historic mission.Wow! SpaceX Starship deploys V3 Starlink satellites

They hired Harley-Davidson engineers?..............
75 days after it left atop Booster 20 as theu launched on flight 13, Starship Ship 40 has returned home arriving to thr port of Brownsville after a trip half way around the world.
SpaceX process is to keep building rockets and letting failures tell them which part to engineer better. Since this is all still testing its an acceptable process.

FORTE
a strength or talent, a strong point
from Latin fortis
And more, because forte is
“as it (just so) happens/happened”...
https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/forte#Adverb_5
...a pun on 40.
So if you want to sound extra-classy, it’s four-tay, not forty.

A little history is that the splashdown of SHIP 40 occurred on July 24th, the same date as Apollo 11’s return. The entire world cheered! Peak America! In 1969, July 24th fell on Tisha b’Av, the saddest day of the Jewish calendar.

...the recovery team has to be, you know, plotting and scheming at this point, I imagine. Just thinking of, you know, what.. what could we marshal fast enough to hook safely to ship and bring it to shore.
Yeah
I mean that would be great data for the engineers to be able to actually get some chunk if not a large bit of Starship, whether it’s studied down there in Australia or somehow managed to be barged over to Starbase...
