If the right-wing Vox Party wins (the country is currently embroiled in mass protests against the far-left government), these gents are going to apply for asylum in ... an Islamic terror den known for lobbing off the heads of gay people.
I would ask for political asylum in Gaza, immediately in Gaza.

Anyone who has spent any time studying Islamic theology, history, or culture - particularly in areas controlled by militant jihadi outfits like Hamas - knows this.
It is not a well-kept secret. You have to work extra hard to be this ignorant.
In the Quran, there are several verses that mention the sin "of the people of Lot," which is an uneducated way to refer to the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah that Lot had settled in after receiving an inheritance from his uncle Abraham. In the biblical account, God resolved to destroy the cities for their sin, and the men of the cities confirmed this judgement as just when they tried to rape two angels that visited Lot to warn him to leave (Genesis 19).
Within this context, the Quran specifically spells out "approaching males" as "mates" (Quran 7:80-81, 26:165-166, 27:54-55, 29:28-29).
In addition, the Hadith (a collection of sayings and traditions of the warlord Mohammed), comments on gayness. Mohammed instructed others to curse a gay man three times. Mohammed's cousin Ibn Abbas also attributed this quote to him:
Whoever you find doing the action of the people of Lot, kill the one who does it and the one to whom it is done.
This is why Islamic jihadis throw gay people off buildings, my friends!
I'd say public education has failed these Spanish gentlemen, but I actually think it led them to its intended goal.

To call Röhm "openly gay" is an exaggeration.
Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that it was an "open secret."
