President Donald Trump said voters may be frustrated with congressional Republicans heading into the November midterm elections, but that anger does not extend to him as Democrats seek to regain control of one or both chambers of Congress.
“They’re angry at Republicans,” Trump said in an interview with Punchbowl News that aired Friday. “But they’re not angry at me.
"They’re not angry at me, but they are angry at Republicans.”
Republicans are facing some headwinds in competitive House and Senate races, including concerns over affordability, energy prices, and the political fallout from the ongoing war with Iran, but the GOP enters the campaign with significant political and financial advantages.
Chief among those advantages is the enormous fundraising operation surrounding Trump, which gives Republicans substantial resources to defend their congressional majorities and compete in closely contested races.

Trump has said he intends to use the resources to “help Republicans,” while insisting that he does not feel pressure to campaign as he did during his own presidential races.
