I do agree, this deal needs to be struck down, and hard.
Are you in the cinema biz? I’m skeptical. Product in the movie business is generated by the talent, not the corporate shells that hire the talent. Money flows to where the talent is. For decades, raising money has been so completely about what you now, not who you know, that buying studios is more about getting access to their past content than any real edge in making future product.
We seem to be moving towards everything streaming.
I guess writing cogent sentences is no longer part of journalism school.
Looks like it was the editor’s day off to boot.
Why strike it down...who cares? Last time I went to a theater was probably 15 years ago. The movie was so-so but the rude and crass audience behavior convinced me that the theater business was dying for reasons more than the popularity of streaming. If I want a group viewing experience I can invite over a bunch of friends and have that without being annoyed by the nastiness that pervades our society.
Netflix makes a lot of stuff that’s better than Warner Brothers; they should keep doing what they are doing and in ten years Warner Brothers won’t seem so valuable.
Netflix and all the other Streamers should be getting their money back for at least half the crap movies they offer on their platforms.
People forgot how to behave in theaters. Covid is somewhat to blame, demographic shifts largely to blame.
“ Product in the movie business is generated by the talent, not the corporate shells that hire the talent. ”
When was the last movie you saw that included talent on most aspects- director, writer and actors?
Long long time for me.
Buggy whip manufacturers blast the auto industry.

This story made no sense. I w
Saw merger and Netflix and chose the opposition
Oh. And also knew this:
DGA Christopher Nolan
President
He is all about creativity and doing things the way the director wants it done. He wants his movies on the big screen the way they’re meant to be. And people love to work for him
He’s also won many awards while being ridiculed in front of the world by the usual Jimmy Kimmels.
It’s about all the media consolidation. Soon they’ll only be one company where you will get all of your entertainment and news from.
Netflix produces better shows than the major Hollywood broadcast network connected TV studios.
“ Soon they’ll only be one company where you will get all of your entertainment and news.”
It’s not like we can tell the difference now.
We made a small investment in Angel Studios. They’re making some really good stuff.
Truth and Treason was very well done.

Possible antitrust violation?
Is the movie business worried Netflix will now have the power to out smut everyone else?
