The mayor of Uruapan, Carlos Manzo, pleaded with Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum for help in his fight against the cartel which was extorting and killing people in his area. She denied him such help and on the important Mexican holiday of El Dia De Los Muertos he was brutally assassinated by the cartel in front of his family and his fellow citizens. In response, President Sheinbaum has declared herself completely helpless to fight the cartels. Really? Perhaps she should have informed the people of Mexico about her self-declared incompetence last year BEFORE she became President.
HEY....PUT THE CARTELS IN BOATS!!
Good - sounds like she’s inviting President Trump to come take a stab at it.
What would Jefferson or Jackson do?
Nothing unless the cartels were harming our country or
commerce. Uh, Wait...
“from the halls of Montezuma”...
BTW, the Mafia in America kept the violence limited to among themselves, not to outsiders. They were smart enough to realize that if they displayed violence to those outside the Mafia, that would invite retribution from an outraged public. I hope Michael Franzese does a video comparing the cartel to the Mafia. The big difference is that the Mexican cartels engage in extreme violence to the public which the Mafia declined to do.
Not far from the truth.
Most, if not all of our federal employees who are employed on our behalf in Mexico receive a Department of State 20% wage hardship bonus for working and living in Mexico. It largely has to do with the exposure to sewage pollution and crime.
While some of us have known Mexicans we would not mind living next door, there are towns and cities and schools across the farming areas of our country that are run entirely by individuals with Mexican-Latin American surnames.
Perhaps she should resign so someone competent can do it.
Mexico is Cousin Eddie parking in your driveway in his dilapidated RV, then selling drugs out of it.
Police: “Sorry Mr. Griswold, nothing we can do.”
(Yelling outside: Hey Clark. S***ter’s full!)
If we’re going to war, let’s have one we can drive to.
Transfer her to our Congress.
As a democrat, of course.
Helpless? Is that an invitation?
Sealing the southern border has (I think) made the problem solvable, by cutting the obvious smuggling routes and thereby limiting the flow of money. Sending ICE after the slaves working the Cartel plantations in the US will clean that up. Sending teams to decapitate cartel leadership can follow.
And build more prisons to house drug offenders. Don’t be squeamish. Because without the massive flow of money out of our cities to the cartels there are no cartels.
> BTW, the Mafia in America kept the violence limited to among themselves, not to outsiders. <
Yes, that’s an important point. The Mafia took pains not to hurt innocents. The cartels don’t give a damn about that. They will kill not only their targets, but family members of their targets.
And anyone else unfortunate enough to be in the way.
...the money is toooo(ke) good.
“In response, President Sheinbaum has declared herself completely helpless to fight the cartels. Really?”
Yes really. She is probably right and just being honest. Mexico is too far gone. The cartels control Mexico and will kill her and her entire family if she goes too far.
I am afraid only the U. S. is capable of taking out the cartels completely and that would entail considerable risk and pain.
Mexico needs a Nayib Bukele.
Let me finish the statement: “Completely HELPLESS to Fight the Cartels”, and it’s racist for you to offer to help.
They own her. She is the Cartels. They own AMLO too. They own Mexico.
Same as Venezuela. They own Venezuela.
They own the Democrat Party too.
“Whether you think that you can, or that you can’t, you are usually right.”
— Henry Ford
Does Claudia Sheinbaum think she’s some kind of Kaiser?
Her bank account makes her helpless...
Fight them? Hell, she’s one of them. If she were American, she’d definitely be a democrat.
