Article states she was “a loving mother to her son” but no mention of a husband anywhere. Some kind of male/female deal gone wrong?

Paper in San Antonio reports that she and her husband had split up a couple of months before, but no one had filed any paperwork, so things were probably tense.

A better report says that she had called her mother, distraught because her little boy was spending the weekend with his father, so the mother went over to check on her, which was when the mother saw her daughter, a small fire in the back yard, and her daughter burned but alive. The mother reports that the victim had been cleaning the house, and had a chicken on the stove, so no particular indications of foul play.

She was separated from her husband and there might have been a custody issue over their son. But she was conscious when rescuers arrived and didn’t mention anyone doing this to her so perhaps it was accidental.
