In the Trump era many have forgotten that Democrats and the mass media demonize all Republican candidates.
I remember when McCain was so sure the mass media would give him a pass after years of favorable coverage—and then he got stabbed in the back over and over and over again....
Our enemies give us no quarter.
To keep winning we must give them no quarter—no matter who our candidate is.
The 24/7 PA system in Jonestown is designed to make it so that you cannot think.
Also, what we call ”mass media” is really just media from New York City, isn’t it?
True. 24 hour “Jonestown” media. Nice way to put it.
But I also agree with the author's point that a lot of the unhinged hatred for Trump may stem from a lack of respect or hatred of their parents, particularly their father. Or perhaps an absent father.
And even people in younger generations who had fathers in their lives, they were still subject to 24/7 projections of men as evil, incompetent, or untrustworthy. Look at how men have been portrayed for decades in things like "family" shows. For all the praise we give Tim Allen for being a conservative, if we admit, even his most famous show, Home Improvement, portrayed the father of the family as the idiot who's always having to learn life lessons from everybody else, including the wife and kids.
I wouldn't be surprised if that cultural undermining of men makes it easier for the left to take the next step on Trump and truly hate him.

I hate blog pimps - just the same I’m happy to say I voted for Trump all 3 times he has run.
Mostly because
1) He is *not* a lifelong professional politician, something that infests our government at every level.
2)He is *not* a lawyer - something else that infests our government at every level.

What is a “blog pimp”? I read something similar from another commenter. I’m not getting this. I have a blog. I write posts. Sometimes I post them here. When I fill out the form here to post, it asks where the article is coming from. Am I missing something?
