Interestingly enough, the The English “Bill of Rights 1689” included the right of citizens to have arms. But only if you were Protestant. From that Act of Parliament:
“Protestants may have arms for their defence suitable to their conditions and as allowed by law…”
The trick was that allowed-by-law thing. What Parliament gave Parliament later took away. Today in the UK you cannot even carry pepper spray for self-defense. However, the British police will allow you to carry a whistle.
I doubt very much if a whistle will stop a crazy Islamist from stabbing you.
They’ve only ever had that right when it is ‘deemed necessary’...their ‘rights’ are full of language that makes them null and void when the State decides.
