Any politicians who cut their bloated budgets will be blamed for any failure by those agencies. They will claim that funding cuts were responsible for cutting their resources.

Good point. If the FBI doesn’t get their massive new headquarters, if there is a terrorist incident, they will say they couldn’t keep track of the terrorists who crossed the border because of inadequate facilities.
You’re exactly right about that. Similar tactics would be used by other agencies to shift blame to congress.
