Why is one even being considered by the court? He was “convicted” of an accounting error, not some violent crime.
I did a search asking if judges used psychologists for sentencing and found an article about forensic psychologists, at https://www.apa.org/monitor/2017/09/courts-decisions . They are hired by attorneys or prosecutors. Nothing about judges using them. I would like to see how Merchan contacted these people, what he’s paying them, etc.
Seems pretty crooked to me.
Especially since - as you say - the accusation against him is a bookkeeping error (that his accountants made without any input from him...)
