A couple of quick hot points from the 2024 presidential race and Trump side of the equation.
♦ First, we can ignore all of the typical pre-debate banter about who is doing what in the lead-up to the Trump v Biden debate. Every cycle the debate narratives are pushed for clicks and attention; almost all of it is manufactured nonsense and false.
Actual, professional, presidential debate teams do not leak information about their debate prep activity to the media. The only information released is from campaign players who want the other side to see, hear and waste time preparing for imaginary nonsense. All of the pre-debate stuff, banter, punditry and column inches are one big mind game of misinformation. Ignore all of it.
♦ Second, the DC system that created Mike Pence as the best option for Trump 2016 is the same system pushing Vance, Rubio and Burgum for 2024. [Example HERE] The intent with Pence 2016 is the same intent with Vance, Rubio and Burgum ’24. I’m cautiously optimistic President Trump is well aware of this.
Seriously, how many times have you heard me repeat the warning: NEVER TRUST A NEVER-TRUMPER. Yet, time and time again people get wooed back, deny their instincts, dismiss the intellectual reality and drop their guard. Every single time the Trump supporters get burned.
This is not complicated folks. The Never-Trumpers do not change position, have an awakening, trip over some “come to Jesus” moment, engage in self-reflection, or otherwise evolve to stop thinking that Donald Trump is the end of their world. Never-Trumpers espoused that opinion, because Never-Trumpers saw value in holding that opinion. It is simple and should be accepted.
Those who claimed Trump was/is horrible, terrible, egotistical, evil and all the other adjectives to describe their sentiments, do not suddenly have a change in perspective. What changes them are changes in the instructions they are given. They begin praising Trump because there is new value in stating that opinion. NEVER, EVER Trust a never-Trumper. The stakes are too high.
♦ Third, apparently the secret service is increasing the security detail around President Trump.
Kelly O’Donnell: “Secret Service is ready to add new protectee detail for Trump running mate. USSS is also increasing size of Trump detail beyond level for formers. Official said, “The Secret Service detail has been bulked up by additional special agents and support teams to ensure the highest level of security for not only the event sites but the travel in between events.” (source)
Generally speaking, the current DC system operators, that are referred to as the ‘Biden administration’, have no motivation to protect Donald Trump other than their sense of personal responsibility to the nation President Trump represents.
Given the effort that Tucker Carlson has put into mainstreaming thoughts around the ‘killing of Trump‘, I am cautious to view any Secret Service effort through the prism of professional altruism.
I pray for the safety of President Trump and his family daily, because I am very clear-eyed about the nature of the enemy he faces.
I pray it won’t be a Deep State mole.
You can be that they’re not pushing for Vivek. Don’t know if they know it yet, but Vivek is the Left’s greatest enemy. Not sure the Right gets that yet either.
Do you think President Trump sees the advantage of having a strong VP that the Depp State would be equally or even more afraid of them taking over for Trump in a crisis? Extra insurance to keep Trump healthy and in power for his full second term.

Pres. Trump will pick his running mate very carefully, I’m sure of that. After Pence, he will scrutinize everyone under a microscope. Whoever it is will have some stones for sure.
President Trump would be wise to keep his own security people around him and his family at all times.

Let’s face it. There are very few in the political world worthy or even capable of carrying the MAGA cause after Trump.
A Mike Pompeo pick wouldn’t be a surprise.

Let’s hope Trump learned from 2016 how the Deep State F’ed him over with their picks, and that he (wrongly stated here) that he had to kiss McConnell’s ass and let McConnell approve of who he wanted for Attorney General, and VP.
Burgum should be the choice. As Governor of ND, he has all the insight on the Bakken deposits, how we can work with Canada on oil production and distribution and he will be a key supporter in promoting the reopening of Keystone. This will lower prices and create havoc on foreign bad actors like Russia. If not for VP, Burgum should run DOE.
Funny thing is they probably already have these women that have been handsomely paid, ready to come forward the minute he picks a VP. If the GOP ever used these tactics, someone would be going to jail. Sick and tired of this double standard.
Vivek is the only one on the national stage who consistently speaks about reinstating the Constitution as the protector of our God-given individual liberties against the overwhelmingly unconstitutional federal gov’t, the unconstitutional portion of which he intends to dismantle.
Non-politician Vivek is the only one on the national stage who has THE plan to carry MAGA beyond 2028 when Trump is gone.
I hope Trump has the fortitude to withstand the misguided Right as well as the Left in picking Vivek as VP. Vivek is the only one who as President in 2028 can carry and EXPAND MAGA to recover and restore America’s Free Constitutional Republic. He’s the only one on the national stage who actually has a vision and a plan to do so. He rightly rails at the Right for only being against the Left and not having an affirmative plan and objective for winning the cuiture/political war.
The little I know abut Vivek I kind of like as he is a flamethrower, but Freepers here have stated he was an Obama supporter and he is fake and is just lusting for power, nevermind he is not a natural born citizen.

There have been so many threads here on Free Republic regarding who Trump might pick as a running mate. And many potential choices have been criticized for not being MAGA.
That begs the question who else is truly MAGA and will carry on in 2028 and beyond.
There’s only one Donald Trump. It is hard to see who exactly is another Donald Trump waiting in the wings for the future.
I would hope that there are some Republicans out there who will endorse the policies of Trump in 2028 and beyond. But whoever that is, he or she is likely a conventional politician and not someone with the personality and stage presence of Trump.
Well if you want to get into the Natural Born citizenship debate that subject has been debated quite a bit on Free Republic.
And there is clearly no Free Republic census on what natural born citizenship means.
