I know what an Alford Plea is. I watch ID and Oxygen all the time.
Did Jenna’s case involve an Alford Plea? I didn’t notice that.
Na, I don’t think so. But in my view, our system seems completely ok with pleading guilty whether you’re guilty or not.
I think I read that more cases are resolved via Alford, than actually resolve at trial.
I’d bet there’s also a sentencing penalty to resolving with Alford as opposed to lying to a judge about how sorry you are about a crime you didn’t commit.
