I don’t disagree with most of what you’ve said there, but property taxes aren’t the real problem for you — it’s the funding of SCHOOLS with property taxes that is the real issue. And I’m 100% on board with you there.

There are some municipal governments in PA that don’t impose any property taxes at all. But the residents still have to pay property taxes to the local school district.

In any state where a mortgage is a non-recourse loan, the bank has nothing but the collateral to seize from you.

Interesting-—We should come up with a list of locales that don’t have property taxes. I, seriously, would move there.
Sadly, we can’t retire where we live now due to expensive property taxes.

The drug user still owes the lender for the car even though they no longer own it...........................

but it turns the debt into an uncollateralized debt as far as the drug user is concerned. No need to look out for the Repo man

The homeowner is entirely at fault. But she won’t lose her home, however. She’ll do what she should have done a year ago. Pay the tax.

Problem solved.

People want to fight to great. But the law is still the law, whether you agree with it or not.

I didn’t really need another reason to absolutely HATE the government (all levels but especially state and federal) but this story certainly provides one.

““I had been responsible for paying [the property taxes], and when our company went out of business in Rhode Island, I didn’t have the money to pay them,” Mr. Searle told The Epoch Times. “
She didn’t know about it, apparently.
If she owned it, she should have paid the taxes, not delegated it to her son.

the revolution was fought over unfair taxes without representation....

basically we are in that same boat...our representatives do not care about citizens or their plight....

if there ever was an unfair tax its property tax because it never ends, not after many decades of paying it....

in essence you don't really own your home, you are renting it...

I have no problem with foreclosures due to unpaid property taxes, but the foreclosure sale should only pay off the unpaid taxes, with the balance going to the owner on whom the property was foreclosed.

For a person or a company to pay someone’s tax debt of $1,600 dollars and then be able to get a 268% profit that also takes the property from the prior owner wiping out any equtiy they have in the property is nothing other than legalized theft.

Plank #1 of the Communist Manifesto: Abolition of private property in land and application of all rents of land to public purpose.

Ihe institution of property taxes ended "private property in land."

You no longer own property.

You rent it from the government.
