Imagine your complete personal financial destruction. All it takes is a deranged District Attorney and a deranged judge who hold a different political view, i.e. the democrat view.
We have that deranged DA in Letitia James, the DA of NY. She campaigned on getting Donald Trump, who she called "an illegitimate President", and is making good on that.
She brought charges on a victimless civil violation solely aimed at Donald Trump. No one in history was ever found liable under the statute in question when no money was lost. No one complained. No one aside from Trump was charged- not the bankers, lawyers or realtors who were necessarily involved in the process. No one. Just Trump.
Then we have a deranged judge- Arthur Engoron, who openly hates Trump. He piled on a historically onerous fine and now they total nearly half a billion dollars with interest accruing at about $110,000 per day. Here's the kicker- the person found liable by the deranged judge has to post bond before even beginning an appeal. For you that means that for some sniveling offense a DA can ask for an astronomical fine on you and a deranged judge can multiply that if you simply hates you. And the deranged DA can seize your assets.
And being in a hostile state doesn't help:

I agree, they will go after any of us on the right. What is happening to President Trump, can happen to any of us.
And, that so many don’t see a problem with this us very troubling.

Before this General Flynn lost all of his life savings and his $1.9 million house to pay for enormous legals bills for his crime of being pro-Trump.
“In the agreement, Flynn pleaded guilty to one felony count of “willfully and knowingly making materially false statements and omissions to the Federal Bureau of Investigation in violation of 18 U.S.C.”. 2018.
They trip up people by questioning them for hours for two or three days and when they say “Yes, as I said I spoke to him Thursday” they say “You told us two days ago you spoke to him Tuesday.”
What if someone asked us if went to the drug store and then the shoe store last week and they told us “a camera caught you doing the reverse. You lied.”
AKA: Get into the cattle car or your kids lose their hand, maybe their head.
They had better wake up——fast.
It’s already in full swing at the local level. They form community organizations, appoint themselves, appoint their own community environmental court, and then cite-prosecute you for whatever it is that they don’t like about you, your businesses, your thinking, your carbon and climate damage, your inequities, your free speech, etc....
Lawfare isn’t news. They tried it on Reagan’s associates and then perfected it against Sarah Palin.
It will go on until we are a single-party nation, or until the collectivists are stopped.
What is the shortest path to an appeal to the Supreme Court? I don’t think Trump will get justice in the NY appeals process. On the hand, it might be in Trump’s interest to dare James to seize his assets. That might be the ticket to the SCOTUS.
I am 100% in agreement.
This is what was done to General Michael Flynn, and we had many on this very forum who said that he pleaded guilty, so that was an admission of guilt, and he deserved what he got.
I found that VERY disturbing to read on this forum.
They completely disregard the bottomless funds and time that the organs of government can expend to persecute a citizen and completely bankrupt them, imprison them, or both.
General Flynn had to sell his house to meet legal fees, and his son, who had a newborn child at the time, was threatened with prosecution and imprisonment.
We had (and still have) people on Free Republic who think that is just fine.
An actual opposition party would have cut off all funding to everything, military and all, until this stopped. No government so long as the DOJ is so much as investigating thw GOP nominee.
How is that a dare? That is exactly what they want. They would have it sold before SCOTUS could stay the ruling or anything.

They most definitely do but unfortunately, a lot of those on our side consider that unfair or “contrary to our values.”
Hard to equal the money the gov is willing to burn up to stick it to conservatives.

And it appears to me she said it as a candidate so no prosecutorial privilege.
