What you've described is the Jim Carrey style of "acting." More correctly referred to as "doing an impression." But Thatcher's strength, intelligence, wit, and personal warmth were entirely missing - because NetFlix (or HBO or whoever) wanted the audience to despise and/or look down upon Thatcher.
