A single state solution is the only real solution.
“Palestine” is not a real thing. No effort, EVER, has been made to integrate the disparate elements of the Gaza Strip and the West Bank into anything like a political union, which is probably not a viable solution, given that the noncontiguous nature makes any unified action affecting both parcels difficult and highly unreliable.
A similar and parallel situation was in effect when the British colony of India gained its independence, and immediately there was efforts to create two independent nations, based on religious differences. The Republic of India consisted of all religions other than Islam, and the Republic of Pakistan was to be an Islamic preserve. Only problem was, there were two WIDELY separated districts, East Pakistan, now known as Bangladesh, and West Pakistan, now known only as Pakistan. The decision was finally made to declare each of these districts as separate nations, as it proved too difficult to come to an equitable agreement on how the combined government could function.
The same paradox exists with Gaza and the West Bank. They cannot be combined into a nation of “Palestine”.
There is your “two-state” solution, now isn’t that better than the clearance “from the river to the sea”, that Hamas envisions?
