we Catholics used to think having large families was the Catholic thing to do, culturally....my mom said one time that the parish priest came to the house and looked at the ages of the children and would ask.."what happened here" when there was a couple of "empty" yrs....
and mormons the same...
but now our young people are not heading down the path of solid marriage and children....
if a guy can have sex with just any random, female, or get his jollies from porn and computers, why get all messy with a real sexual experience....
Be fruitful and multiply was a COMMAND...
and if people willingly do not even try to have families then IMO its a sin...it goes against God's teachings and it goes against something called "biology" and "survival of the fittest"....
That’s a great comment. And on a positive note I might add that I was pleased to see so many Catholic families with young children at Midnight Christmas Mass (Latin sung Mass) at St. Michael’s. And not only were there a lot of children but they were dressed up to the max and appeared very enthusiastic about the whole thing... Although probably couldn’t wait to go home in case Santa Claus visited while they were gone.
I have 2 children and it was very difficult financially to raise them. I can sympathize with kids coming of age. Rent is insane, thought of owning a home is non exsistant, food is up, gas, insurance. They can’t afford to live much less have children.
