No, Darwin Awards are for people who accidentally remove themselves from the gene pool. This guy did it intentionally..............

Have to disagree with you. To qualify for a Darwin Award, you need only these requirements:

1) Be capable of reproducing.

2) Be stupid.

3) Die as a result of being stupid, thereby curtailing any future reproduction.

There is no requirement of intent.

He wasn’t being stupid in the classic sense, he believed the lies of his Canadian government. He was educated to believe the government so realistically he had no other choice.............

You don’t have to die to receive a Darwin Award, your removal from the gene pool cannot endanger others and must be of a spectacular and uncommon nature, and the aforementioned has to be not due to stupidity but a momentary lapse of good judgment in a person otherwise imbued with good judgment. What’s correct is that intent is not required; it disqualifies, in fact.
